Cowboy
A/n: Just a short little drabble. Someone's thoughts after listening to "That Girl Is a Cowboy" by Garth Brooks (The Lost Sessions).
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Law & Order: SVU, nor do I own the characters I mention that are on the show. If I did, there would be lots of flying monkeys, Cassidy would still be on the SVU, and there would be more FEMALE detectives on the show.
Funny. That girl is my cowboy… that beautiful woman sitting in the driver's seat right now. Without her… I'd be lost. She's the Peanut Butter to my Jelly. The Ying to my Yang. Abbot to my Costello. She's my best friend, and my worst nightmare when she's mad. She's saved my ass more times than I can count, and saved my life when it counted. And I'd lay down my life for her if I needed to. Because she's special. She's more than just an acquaintance… even more than a friend. She's my partner.
I love her like a brother loves a sister, and like a father loves a daughter. Because she's never had that before. Because in many ways, I need it as much as she does. Because I know she won't admit it, but not knowing her father hurts. And because she won't admit what her mother did to her.
She is my cowboy. She's my friend. She's my partner.
