Elliot was already at the scene of the crime. He looked half-asleep as he bent over the body of a young female.

"What do we got?" he asked the cop on scene.

"Unidentified female, around seventeen I'd say, multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest. No murder weapon found. Evidence of sexual assault."

"Son of a bitch." Elliot muttered. Olivia came walking up. She ducked under the crime scene tape after flashing her badge.

"Hey Liv." He smiled at her. She just glared and began to ask the usual questions. Who, what, when, where, how. Just the routine stuff that happened at every scene they had visited for the last seven years.

"Nothing more we can do here tonight. We'll head back to the station and brief our Captain." Elliot said quietly to no one in particular.

A week passed with Elliot basically working a case by him self. Olivia was there in body, but her mind was elsewhere. He knew what was bugging her but it wasn't as if he could talk to her about it. The only time she even acknowledged his presence was at work, and even then it was strained. Even Casey was acting distant towards him, she wasn't completely ignoring him, just acting strange. They were now laying on his couch watching a basketball game eating popcorn.

"Casey what's up? This last week you have totally been acting weird." He asked her flat out.

"Nothing. I've just been doing some thinking."

"Uh oh, Counselor. Am I going to like the kind of thinking that you have been doing." He teased her.

She flipped off the game and turned to face him on the couch."Are you in love with Olivia?" she asked him bluntly.

"What? Where the hell did you get that idea?"

"Oh I don't know. Maybe the fact that you chased after her when she found out about us, and the fact that you have been overly nice to her this last week,"

Elliot shifted on the couch to a more comfortable position. "Liv is my best friend, I care about her. I hate the way she found out about us. It tore her up. I just wish we could put all this behind us and all be friends again."

"I want that too El. But I don't want to risk losing you either."

"Why would you think you would lose me? I'm not going anywhere Casey." He smiled at her and reached out for her hand. Casey pulled away quickly.

"You say that now, but what happens a week from now or a month from now when you and Olivia are talking again and she tells you that she is in love with you? What about me then Elliot?"

Elliot took a deep breath. "Casey can't we just focus on the here and now, which is that I'm here with you right now. Worry about the future later."

"Elliot I think we should slow things down until you know what you really want. I've seen you this last week walking around like a lost little boy. You need to figure out what you want, and if that's me then great. If it's not, then that's the way life works. I'll see ya later."

She got up off the couch, half expecting him to follow her. Elliot just sat there on the couch not sure of what to do or what to say. Casey left slamming the door behind her. He turned the game back on and was surprised when his cell rang. He answered it without looking.

"Stabler."

"El it's me."

He sat up on the couch and turned down the game. "Liv are you okay/"

"Can you come over? I really.. I really need to talk to you."

"Yeah sure. I'll be over in about twenty minutes."

Olivia was pacing her apartment waiting impatiently for Elliot to arrive. She looked at the clock on the VCR. "He should be here by now" she thought to herself. Her intercom beeped. "Liv it's me. Let me in."

She buzzed Elliot in and took a deep breath. She peeked through the peephole in her door and saw Elliot standing outside with his hands in his pockets looking around nervously. She opened the door.

"Hi."

"Can I come in?" She stepped aside and let him in. He touched her shoulder as he walked past her. Olivia shut the door and leaned against it as Elliot took a seat on the couch.

"What's up Liv? You sounded upset on the phone."

"Elliot, i.. It's not the fact that you are with her that bothers me so much, it's the fact that you weren't honest with me. I mean you guys have been together over three months, I think that you could at least have told me."

"I'm sorry. If it makes you feel any better, Casey is pissed at me now too."

"Why?"

Elliot ran his hands over his face and mumbled something that Olivia couldn't hear.

"What? Elliot, speak up."

"I said, "she thinks I'm in love with you."

The words that came out of his mouth were the last words that Olivia ever expected to hear come out of his mouth.

"She.. what?" Olivia came and sat beside him on the couch.

"She thinks I'm in love with you." He stated flat out.

"Wow. Why does she think that?"

"I guess because of how close you and I are. I mean hell Kathy thought the same damn thing and she left me. Why should Casey be any different?"

"You aren't in love with me Elliot." She reached out for his hand and gave it a light squeeze. He turned to face her and smiled. Without saying a word he put his hand on her face and leaned in to kiss her. Olivia knew it was wrong but she didn't care. She finally had what she wanted and was never going to let go.
