The Leaky Cauldron was bustling with activity this particular morning. Parents were hurrying along their young children as they passed through the inn's pub, heading towards the back courtyard where a magical wall revealed the entryway to a small shopping area for witches and wizards. Most of the people who passed by were there to purchase required items for their children's school year. There was a variety of ages, the younger year students accompanied by a parent or two, while older students came with their friends to shop themselves, indulging in some sweets with what galleons and sickles were leftover.

But there were two young men sitting at a table by the window who weren't there for school shopping. They had already graduated from Hogwarts, the magic school which these passing children were to attend next week. They were simply enjoying a warm drink while enjoying the fact that they weren't going to return to lessons and curfews.

It wasn't long until someone noticed their presence, however.

"Remus!"

Lifting his head up from his mug and shaking his sandy hair out of his eyes, Remus smiled at the young woman who had called to him. "Good morning, Miranda. No doubt shopping for your last year?"

The blonde girl smiled at them, but Remus' companion did not seem too pleased with her appearance. "Yes, I am." She suddenly made a pouty face, and Remus knew he was in for a scolding. "Why didn't you call me this summer?"

Miranda, like Remus, lived in a Muggle home. At the end of the previous school year, she had written down her phone number on a piece of parchment and suggested in the flirty way that most women possess that he call her to 'get together.'

"I'm sorry," Remus chuckled, "I meant to call, but my dog ate your number."

Miranda's green eyes squinted at him, wondering if he was making fun of her. "Well, I'd give it to you again, but I'll be at school." Turning on her heels, Remus watched her walk towards the back of the inn, disappearing out the door.

Remus' companion made a rather rude gesture towards her.

"What was that for, Sirius?"

"Do you realize how nasty scented parchment tastes?"

(A/N: The shirt that inspired this said, "Sorry, but my dog at your number")
