I wrote this in 1997, and it is about a costume contest that takes place in the city where the master lives. The appliances decided to take part in it.

Chapter 2: Dressing Up

All the appliances thought it would be fun to be in a contest, and they began deciding what kind of costume they would like to wear.

"I'm going to be a cowboy from the Wild West," said Lampy, and he put on a hat, vest, and boots. He also got his stick horse.

"I'm going to be a pumpkin," said the toaster, and he put on a big, round barrel that was painted orange.

"Well, I'm going to have the best costume of all," said the blanket.

"No, you won't!" said Kirby, "because you're just a little rag, and you will always look like a blanket!"

"Waah, waah, waah," cried the blanket.

"Be quiet," said the toaster, "because you have made the blanket cry. I am going to help the blanket with his costume, and it will be a surprise."

So the toaster helped the blanket put on his costume, and while he was getting into it, he said, "Close your eyes, everyone." When he was finally done, he told everyone that they could look again. "Ta da!" he said happily.
