Author note: I forgot to give a short summary about this chapter in the last one. I'm gonna to start doing that, or at least try to.

I growled in anger and looked up at two boys who were laughing hysterically.

"Look at what we got here, Thomas," the one who tripped me said.

"Look's like a stray, Jeff," the one known as Thomas said. I pushed myself to my feet.

"Get lost," I warned them, not in the mood to fight. I had to get back in time.

"And who's gonna make us?" Jeff asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Apparently youse two never hoid of me," I said, putting my fists up. "The names Spot Conlon!" And with that said, I threw a hard blow at Jeff, sending him to the ground. Thomas gasped at his friend, and angrily threw a punch at me.

I caught his fist and tripped him with my foot. Jeff jumped to his feet and punched my jaw, causing me to stumble backwards.

"I don' have time for dis," I said, more to myself. I pushed Jeff out of my way, ready to run, but I was thrown backwards to the ground. I felt a sharp pain in the side of my head, and felt blood seeping out of the wound. I landed on a rock, but not hard enough to knock me out.

I pushed myself back to my feet and furiously punched at the boys, hoping that I'll be able to make it in time.

Normal P.O.V

I could feel myself fading away. I increased my breathing to try and stay alive. I had learned earlier, from Splinter, that if Spot didn't make it back by tonight, then all is lost.

I felt the cold sweat hitting my pillow, soaking my hair. I let out a small whimper, and waited for my soul to depart earth. I could vaguely remember Scout demanding to be let in, but nobody would allow her entrance.

A nurse sat at my bedside, doing all she could to keep my fever down. Earlier they had put me in a tub of cold water, but that only froze me. Now they were putting ice on my head inside rags.

Dr. Grey was pacing around the room, muttering to himself. Splinter stared out the window, his hopeful eyes scanning the night. I closed my eyes for a second, and I thought I heard an angel speaking to me.

"It'll be alright, dear. Just hang in there…"

Spot's P.O.V

I ignored the pain in the side of my head, and left the two bloody boys on the ground. I raced through the forest, not stopping. I quickly pulled out my pocket watch and found that it was near nine.

I increased my speed and held on tightly to the bag of medicine. I could feel Sage's spirit slipping away, and it made me nervous and scared. I watched the ground to make sure there wasn't anybody else trying to stop me from saving Sage.

Dammit! Where was I now? Hopefully near Brooklyn. I took out my map and quickly studied it. Wow, all of that running brought me all the way to Bronx. I put the map back into my coat and started running again, not wanting to stop.

I felt a couple of rain drops kiss my cheeks, and then it started to pound furiously on my head. The blood from my wound fell to the ground, clashing with the mud.

The rain wasn't going to stop for anybody. It was weeping, and I prayed it wasn't because of Sage.

"She's not dead," I told myself, "She's not dead!"

A flash of Sage's lifeless body from my dream came into my mind, causing me to stumble a bit.

I recognized where I was, and smiled to myself. I soon emerged from the forest and found myself in Brooklyn.

I ran as fast as I could through the streets of Brooklyn. Just a few more blocks…yes! The Lodging House came into clear view, and I took off into a fast sprint.

I then stopped, remembering that same vision in my dream. I felt my heart get caught up in my throat, as I slowly inched closer to the Lodging House. The rain still patted my head, telling me to get inside.

I swung open the door, and repeated my dream. I entered the main room, and found everybody's faces lightening up from my return.

I sighed in relief and immediately sprinted up the stairs, and burst into Sage's room. Dr. Grey twirled around and sighed in relief. I immediately gave him the medicine and glanced over at Sage. Her eyes were closed, but she was still breathing.

One of the nurses shooed me out, and I nearly collapsed when I got back downstairs. I brought my hand to my hand and examined the blood.

Now all we had to do was wait. Wait for Sage to get better. I felt all eyes on me, and returned their awkward stares.

"What happened to yer head?" Dice asked me.

"I had a run in with a few idiots," I said, closing my eyes.

Normal P.O.V

It was dark; as dark as night. I turned around in place, looking for any sign of life.

"Hello?" my voice echoed. "Is there anybody here?" There was no respond.

Instead, a bright light blinded my vision, and faded slightly. I opened my eyes and peered at a very beautiful woman, who looked vaguely remember.

"Hello, Sage," her voice echoed. Her brown curls cascaded over her shoulders, and her deep blue eyes danced in a calm rhythm.

"Hi," I replied, stepping back slightly. The woman wore a long, beautiful, white dress that covered her feet, and had long, white wings that sprouted from her back. Floating above her head was a glowing halo. She was an angel.

"You don't remember me, do you darling?" the angel asked, stepping closer. I shook my head apologetically and watched her angelically walk closer to me.

"My name is Diana. Diana Marie…Matthews." I gasped, and placed my hand over my mouth.

"M-mom?" I stuttered, looking up into her beautiful eyes.

"Yes, dear, it is me." I instantly ran into her comforting arms, and sobbed into her white dress. My mother ran her hand through my hair and smiled down at me.

"Am I dead?" I asked, looking up at her.

"No. You are dreaming," she said, smiling.

"Then you're not real?" I asked, stepping back.

"Sweetheart, I am real. In your heart. I came to you in your dream to ask you a simple favor."

"Anything!" I said, smiling up at her.

"Have faith," she said. I tilted my head in confusion.

"What?" I asked.

"Live your life well, my daughter, and have faith in love, strength, and courage." She stepped back and began to glow.

"Mom, wait! Don't leave me!" I called out, dropping to my knees.

"Come back…"

I heard voices around me, and slightly opened my eyes. It was warm under the sheets, and my head didn't feel as if it were on fire anymore. I opened my eyes fully and peered up at Dr. Grey and Splinter.

"Sage!" Splinter said, smiling down at me.

"Hey," I replied. I could talk! Dr. Grey smiled and nodded in approval.

"She is becoming well," he stated, holding back his laughter of joy. As for Splinter, he couldn't hide his grin, and it appeared immediately on his face. He began to laugh, and gripped me into a hug.

"You're alive!" he sang, jumping up and down with joy. I slightly laughed,

"Of course I'm alive. I'm not weak," I told him, sitting up.

"I can't believe it! Youse is actually awake. Oh man, when Spot came back with da medicine, youse were out for days! It worked, youse is actually alive!"

"It's a grand recovery, Miss Matthews. You must've been touched by an angel," Dr. Grey said. I smiled to myself and thanked my mother in my head. Splinter stopped jumping up and down and sprinted out the door, yelling down at the boys.

"She's awake! She's actually awake!" I heard cheers from downstairs, and feet pounding on the stairs. I laughed to myself as the boys piled into my room and began to hug me tightly.

I looked around the room, and saw Spot leaning against the doorway, looking over at me with a smile that even he couldn't hide. I grinned back at him, and laughed as the boys began to talk in unison.

"Boys! I think we should let Sage rest for awhile," Dr. Grey said, ushering the boys out of the room. The boys groaned and walked out, giving me waves goodbye. Spot still stood in the doorways, staring at me.

"Thanks," I said, as he made his way over to my bed.

"For what?" he asked.

"For saving me."

"It was nothin," Spot shrugged.

"It was everything!" I then noticed a bandage around his head, and felt guilty.

"You didn't have to go out there," I said, looking away. Spot chuckled,

"Yeah I did." I smiled and glanced out the window.

"Well, I guess I should go an' let youse sleep." Spot stood and walked over to the door.

"Oh, an' Sage," I looked over at him. "Don' ever scare me like dat again."

Spot smiled and walked out of the door, closing it gently.

Next chapter: Sage recovers fully, and is able to leave the Lodging House. A love war goes on between Scout and Jack as they try and hide their true feelings for each other. While Sage helps Scout with her problems with Jack, Spot admits something to Jack that he has never told anybody before…

Author note: I know this one is short, but I can't help it.
