The boy at the coronation
Long as I could remember, they prepared me for today. Tall, transparent red windows, stuffed nervous smells of the great hall, scratchy blue robes etched with silver curls - everything around me served to remind of what this meant. This is the day I honor the future king. I walk in, carrying the crown, not looking at the ornamented robes no matter how much I wish. I've been told. Just the carpet before my feet, and once - the face of the prince. Sad. I wonder why. Then I wonder why the crown is belching green. And the king's eyes are cold.
