As the rangers readied their slings fitted with poisoned arrows ready to impale the overpowering charr forces that were pushing southward against the great northern wall, the elementalists and necromancers readied the rituals needed for their spells.

As the overwhelming numbers of the charr ran forward full charge toward the wall the arrows released simultaneously striking the charr knocking the first line down, before the bodies could fall the rituals were completed and fireballs and lightning shot out at the charr, a plague of insects picking at the lion-like monsters. Fire shot back up at the humans as they did their best to douse it with water spells.

The battle went on for another three days with the humans barely holding the great northern wall to the beasts.

There was a rumor going around the battle that some brave and glorious hero whose birth place was in ascalon city back before the war had tainted the land.

So far the rumors had been false; the hero had not shown up.

At mid day on the fifth day the charr had seemed to overcome the humans who could not hold them back from rushing into the gorge in between the wall and the valley. As the charr rush into the gorge a flash of blue light came from the west. A large tidal wave of tar and water rushed out of the western valley and into the gorge covering a large portion of the charr army with a mushy paste which slowed them down drastically. All of the humans looked over to the west to see atop a old ruin a man dressed in flaming red pyromancer robes, his flaming red hair matching his outfit perfectly. Raising his hands above his head in a diamond like shape he started a long charge in which his body became covered in electricity, with a quick movement of his arms so that they were positioned horizontally at his sides. With a flash the electricity went forward and into the soaking wet army pushing against the wall. The roar of the beasts fried muddy carcasses hitting the dirt was for but a second then all was silent, until the rest of the charr charged forward trampling there kin in the process. The man atop the cliff did one final slash with his hand before turning around and walking down the stairs to the ruins. As he walked slowly away from the battlefield an unearthly boom was heard. Then another, and another, then a constant roar.

The man had summoned meteors to fall down upon the beasts killing most of the vast army.

That day for miles north of the battlefield meteors fell for hours, until the charr were completely destroyed.

A wandering adventurer later found a stone tablet on the exact same hill a stone tablet which said in engraved letters. "To protect ascalon I will make floods wash over, lightning strike even make the heavens fall to earth. – falcon bloodfang"
