"It's been a while since I've stood on this beach with the sound of the waves crashing at my feet." He muttered, more so to himself then to the unnaturally silent ninja standing beside him.

She smiled and continued to watch the waves lap at their feet, "So this is where you grew up?" She asked as she looked up at him, already knowing the answer but wanting to strike up conversation after an awkward silence had enveloped the two.

"Yeah..." He answered as an idea came to him. He grabbed her hand and dragged her along like before when the situation was reversed and she was dragging him.

"Riku!" She exclaimed as Riku pulled her towards the water, "What are you doing? We're getting all wet!"

He just smiled and drudged through the water towards the ladder, with her unwilling following behind. He let go of her hand and climbed the ladder. She gave him a funny look and he reached his hand out for her, "C'mon, Yuffie."

Yuffie grasped his hand and he pulled her up the ladder onto the small island. Riku motioned for her to follow him as he headed for the papou tree. He sat and she followed, his arm automatically finding its place around her shoulders.

"Let's watch the sunset." Riku stated as he pulled Yuffie into his lap and placed a kiss on her forehead.

Yuffie snuggled into his embrace to watch the sunset when she noticed a fruit had fallen from the tree. She grasped it and held it in front of Riku, "What kind of fruit is this?" She asked.

"A papou fruit. If two people share one, their destinies become intertwined. They'll remain a part of each other's lives, no matter what." He stated calmly.

Yuffie's face lit up, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's share one!" She exclaimed as she took a bite of the yellow fruit.

"Yuffie, wait a min-" Riku tried to protest but Yuffie cut him off with a kiss that tasted of her and the sweet yellow fruit that entwines two people's destinies, no matter what.

Glor: I had this written in my notebook for a while... I'm just lazy but this version is much better then my original. That means the original sucked! I like this one though.
