Another poem, this one is dedicated to a very special someone. I wanted to do a love poem but I realized that I am very bad at writing love poetry. So I decided to do a poem based on a relationship of hope and comfort in times of adversity. Happy Valentine's Day and remember, you don't need to be in love to honor people who show you love and affection.
Rest
Though I'll stay at your side
For as long as I live
You can't ask for the help
That you know I would give
You can't speak the pain
That I see in your eyes
The break in your spirit
As another dream dies
I don't hear the venom
In the cold words you say
I just hear the defeat
As your hope fades away
I am supposed to be wise
But life seems so grim
Yet we are both survivors
Of hopes so very slim
I beg you to keep fighting
And not fall to despair
Things happen for a reason
And there's a change in the air
