Another V-Day fic. This one's really really short though. In this, Kai's 6 but he's only a few months older than 5-year-old Tala.Enjoy!
"Kai! Kai!"
The young boy's voice echoed through the seemingly empty hallways of the abbey. The boy was cute and small for is age, with a mop of fiery red hair and big, innocent, blue eyes. The boy, Tala, skipped down the hallway, not stopping until he reached a very familiar door.
"Kai!" he called again, barging into the room.
The said boy, only a few months older than Tala, looked over at his best friend. Kai was sitting on his bed, a schoolbook in his lap, doing the lessons Boris had assigned him earlier.
"What is it Red? I'm kinda busy right now…"
The little redhead pouted for a moment before perking back up again, smiling brightly and Kai.
"I made you something!"
The bluenette studied Tala for a moment, now noticing he had something hidden behind his back. He sighed softly and pushed his book off his lap and looked at the redhead expectantly.
"What is it?"
Tala bounced over to Kai and took Kai's present out from behind his back and handed it to Kai.
"I hope you like it…I worked really hard on it…"
Kai looked down at the thing in his hands. It was a pink card made out of construction paper. The front of the card was decorated in red hearts of all sizes. Written sloppily at the top of the card in red crayon was 'Hoppy Valintines day'. Unlike Kai, Tala hadn't started being tutored by Boris yet, even though Tala was one of his favorites. So naturally his spelling was a little…off.
Kai opened the card revealing a stick figure drawing of two people on the left side. One had red hair and blue eyes and the other had two toned blue hair, red eyes and blue triangles on its cheeks. Underneath the drawing in red crayon was, 'bezt freinds 4ever', once again written in Tala's 5-year-old writing. On the right side was a heart drawn in dark pink crayon and under it a little note to Kai.

Kai smiled ever so slightly and closed the card, putting aside. He looked over at Tala, who was now sitting on the bed beside him.
Tala looked at the crimson-eyed boy expectantly, biting his lower lip worriedly, hoping Kai liked the card he worked all morning on.
"It's nice…thanks Red."
Before Tala could reply, Kai pulled his small frame into his lap, catching the redhead's lips in a chaste kiss. Tala felt his cheeks heat up and Kai pulled away slightly, wrapping his arms around the small boy in his lap. Tala looked up at the older boy shyly, making Kai smirk down at the blue-eyed boy.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Red."
Tala blushed slightly and laid his head on Kai's shoulder.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Kai"
