Three Dancing

Darkness cloaked her presence, drawing the night in through her skin and out her eyes. Her hair shone in the veiled moonlight. She was a demon in an angel's form. A dark goddess slipping through the past and into the present. Blood dripped like rubies from her lips as her lips spilled proverbs to the night air.

"Three dancing angels, them what see too much. Tsk, tsk, we'll have to poke their eyes out," the dark haired creature hissed, her black painted fingers darting forward to scratch out the eyes of an invisible presence.

The black of night faded to a blue trimmed cloak with sliver edges, and an eagle watching from the chest of a blonde girl. A stick - it's just an object, doesn't mean what you think it does - tucked behind one ear as she read upside down. A distant smile, tight and controlled and yet dream-like played on her lips.

"The angels see that which others cannot. We comphrend, but we can never begin to understand. Not until it is too late. We feel, we can't not. We're wrong, but not really."

The tip of the stick glowed brightly, white enveloping everything. River Tam's eyes snapped open. You think you know. . .
