A Suite at The Plaza

Got the idea from Mark's line, "God knows where Angel and Collins are...could be the new Shanty Town by the river or a suite at The Plaza.", Hence the title. It's fluffy, but hopefully you'll like it. I've got to stop writing fluff, I'm getting addicted...Oh, and happy belated Valentines Day! I do not own Rent.

"Collins, just tell me! Where are we going?"

"You'll just have to be patient, now won't you?"

Angel sighed impatiently, leaning her head on her lover's shoulder as the subway sped under the ground. Her first Valentines Day with someone she really cared about, and he decided to mum the entire night!

"It's our first Valentines Day, it has to be special!" Collins had protested. She'd thought it would have been enough to get a bite at the Life and make out to some cheesy romance movie, but Tom would have none of that. He'd been very secretive, and had hidden all the plans from her.

"It better be good," she grumbled, gaining a laugh from Collins.

"It will be, it will be! You need to work on your patience, my dear."

She sat up, giving him a small smile. "When have you EVER known me to be patient?"

Collins pretended to think. "True. So think of this as character building."

Angel groaned and leaned against him again as they continued to speed through. Of course, to the transvestite it felt like they were moving slower than Collins when he'd tried on her shoes.

Not that he'd been completely sober at the time, Angel thought with a chuckle. Oh well. He'd find out when he sees Mark's footage.

Collins finally stood up, an adorable grin on his face that Angel had to match. Wherever they were, it was indeed somewhere great.

"Close your eyes," Collins said excitedly, taking her hands as they reached the surface. "This has to be a complete surprise."

She gave him a strange look, but obliged. He lead her down the sidewalk, careful not to lead her into any pesky objects or pedestrians. Wherever they were, however, she could tell it was different. It was so much quieter than the East Village, and she couldn't help but wonder whether they were getting leers. They were just jealous, she told herself with a smirk.

"We're here," Collins said finally, grinning like a maniac. Angel opened her eyes slowly, then widened them as she realized where they were. There were people walking around, talking, in a gorgeously decorated plaza. Door-men stood by, taking peoples luggage, and there were taxis lined up, right outside the door.

"The PLAZA?" Angel asked, her mouth wide. "We're staying at The PLAZA!"

"That's Collins…C-O-L-L-I-N-S…"

"Right here, sir, in room 209. Enjoy your stay."

"Thank you," Collins turned around, coming face to face with a very happy Angel. "Surprised, baby?"

"I…I…" Angel just stared at him. "The Plaza? How could you afford this…?"

He simply took her hand, leading her to the fancy elevators. "You'll never guess who I met on the street."

They stepped in the doors.

"Who?"

"Let's just say," He smiled slyly, whispering in her ear. "Benny's got another neighbor, and this one's got a cat."

And as the doors closed, all that could be heard was the laughing and proclamations of love between two men, making the most of their first and last Valentines Day.
