AN: Written for pbreakdrabbles challenge 2. I tried for happy!LJ, but it didn't totally work out – this was the best I could do.

LJ eyed the slightly tattered old box of Apple Jacks warily for a moment before pulling them from the cabinet and searching for an expiration date. He almost put the box back when he saw the it was three years past, but his mother's voice suddenly popped into his head – she'd always said those kinds of things were so full of preservatives that they'd last until the end of time along with cockroaches. His throat tightened up just a little and he clenched the sides of the green box tightly with both hands as the moment passed.

As he poured a bowl for himself a small plastic package fell out of the box and landed in the middle of his cereal, scattering pink O's across the table. For a moment he couldn't believe what he saw wrapped in the plastic, but there it was: a tiny Han Solo action figure, the exact Han Solo action figure that he'd given up hope of ever obtaining years ago. He looked in amazement at the front of the cereal box, at the advertisement that was years old and promised one in five boxes contained the coveted Han Solo toy.

Liars. He'd spent weeks going through cereal boxes trying to find this particular toy; had built up a nice collection of Luke and Leia Skywalker's and an absurd number of Chewbacca's, but no Han Solo, the one he really wanted. His father had joined him on his mission, buying box after box and eating more than seven boxes of Corn Pops and eight boxes of Frosted Flakes by himself before they finally gave up the search after three unsuccessful weeks.

LJ grinned as he munched his horrifically stale Apple Jacks and put the small Han Solo in his pocket. He'd keep it there until his father returned and he was able to show him the discovery.
