Framing A Moment
By Socket
Roslin sits on a log by the campfire, looking out at the moonlit sky. After today's events, she feels overwhelmed with sorrow and unworthiness.
Lee approaches quietly, he sits beside her and they gaze up at the sky together.
After a moment, he says gently. "It's beautiful."
"Yes," she agrees.
He studies Roslin's profile and says confidently. "You can do this, Laura."
She turns to face Apollo. "I'm glad someone still believes in me," she says earnestly.
"We'll find the tomb; Elosha's death wasn't in vain."
"What about the rat pack?" Roslin asks, she still doesn't trust Tom or his equally shady associate.
"Zarek's smart, but you're smarter," Lee replies.
"Then why do I feel like I'm running just to keep up with everybody else?"
"Because that's what they want you to think. Zarek, my father, all of them - but don't believe them, not for a second."
Laura smiles to herself, no matter what happens, Lee keeps her grounded.
"Captain Apollo?" she asks, staring deeply into his piercing blue eyes.
"Yes?"
And if she could frame a moment, Laura would chose the expression on Lee's face in that instant – in his expression she saw faith, sorrow, tenderness, fear and hope. She never thought that someone could feel that way about her.
"Thank you," she says softly.
Lee smiles at her and they return their gaze to the sky.
