The Inquisitor snapped his whip, looking to his left. He had the pleasure of torturing the Aquarian spy who was identified as Nel Zelpher. The only other thing that came out of her mouth was that she had stolen the two Engineers from Greeton. When the Inquisitor found that out, he beat her to senselessness. He had enjoyed beating them, especially the young, blue-haired one. He turned to the door, and bowed as the leader of the Black Brigade, Albel the Wicked strolled in. Nel awoke as the two finished an exchange of words.
"Ah, you are alive after all." Albel said, looking at Nel. The Inquisitor left the room quickly, there was no way he was going to witness Albel's reason for the nickname he ascertained from the King.
"So--" Albel turned to the torture rack. "--What is your name, fool?"
Nel hung there, silent. Albel picked up a small whip and lashed at her face.
"Tell me or the other two die!" He shouted, pointing to a pair of women.
(Farleen! Tynave! No!) Nel thought, wincing in pain from Albel's blow.
"You should answer me. I already destroyed you weapon that those two fools helped you with. Your queen will be next on my list. I only require your name." Albel said coolly, stroking the handle of his katana gently.
"What do you need MY name for?" Nel answered, trying the ropes tied to her hands.
"Just because, I want to know the name of the only three people in the world to ever refer to me as a weakling. I will trounce you all, then take the throne of Airygliph for myself. The only thing I require is that to make sure I get to kill all three of you." Albel examined an instrument on the table next to Nel. He picked it up and tested the sharpness on his own hand. Nel watched as he didn't wince when the blood started to flow. He set the tip of the blade to Nel's chest, carving circles in her armor. Nel twitched, causing the tip to touch her skin.
"Never!" She attempted to spit in his face. She only succeeded in drooling. She was very dry in the mouth.
"You'll regret that!" Albel screamed as he bore the blade down, cutting both her armor and skin. Nel screamed as he cleaned the blade with his tongue.
"So you are a Runologist… that would explain how you got the Engineers from our prison. Let's see how you respond to this." Albel laughed as he held a stone to her face. All the runes on her body began to glow and ache as he chanted an incantation to the stone. She could feel all the runes start to burn and bleed, and screamed in agony.
"Like it? The engineers from Greeton gave it to us. It amplifies the power of runes exponentially." Albel smirked as he put the stone closer to Nel's chest, causing more pain.
"They didn't. They wouldn't!" she said to him inbetween screams. She would never believe that Fayt and Cliff would betray her. They were coming to get her, right?
"Well, if you're not going to cooperate, then I shall use it on THEM." Albel started towards Tynave and Farleen.
"Nel….." She admitted defeat, she couldn't let him so much as touch them with that stone. They would die from the pain alone.
"Well then Nel… Let's see what other information I can derive from you…" Albel smiled gleefully.
Author's note: This sprung from the fact that I can barely stand AlNel pairings that either suck, or are AU. This might evolve, or it might stay as a one-shot, it all depends. Thank you for reading. If you liked it, let me know, if not, let me know, I'm always open to Const.Crit. and Flames.
