Hey, I wrote this in about 3 minutes. The last couple of lines have been flying round in my head; I just had to give them a story…

Anyways, hope you enjoy.

Fate:

Curses and screams are flying in all directions. You make a mad dash for the marble staircase, and fight your way down.

The battle is raging, all around you. Auror's, teachers, Order members… even your fellow students; everyone is fighting for their lives against the figures in masks and dark cloaks.

But not you.

Ron is catching his breath in an alcove by the doors. He stares in surprise as he watches you hurry past him.

"Wait! What are you doing! We need you to help!"

You know that already. You're well aware that they need you. But there's something else that's more important…

You pause for a moment, before you slip through the door.

"I'm sorry." And you mean it.

"No! Please! You can't leave us! Hermione, you can't leave me!" He shoots a spell at an approaching Death Eater, and then turns back to you.

"I'll be back." You promise

He stares at you sadly.

"I promise!" you declare before you're out the door and gone.

As you race through the deserted grounds, you're thankful you weren't killed back there. You know why, of course.

It was fate, for you to get outside this night.

It was fate for you to get to the bank of lake.

It was fate for him to be there.

He glances up at you, as you hurry towards him.

"You shouldn't be here, it's dangerous," he scowls

"I'm wiling to risk that."

"You're the enemy," he hisses, and his words are like a knife in your heart.

You take a breath, "I know," you reply. "I just wanted to say that…"

"What?" He's angry now. "It was foolish to come here! Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you!"

"Because I love you."

And with that, you turn and run.

You sprint back up to the castle, and you don't look back.

Through the front doors, there's Ron, taking on two Death Eaters at once. You save him the hassle and dispose of one.

He smiles gratefully at you.

"I told you I'd come back."

He laughs, and you face the next dark servant side by side, because that's fate.

Many, many years later, you see the boy from the lake again. He's grown, as are you, and he has children of his own, also.

He study's you silently, as you make your way through King's Cross station with you youngest child's hand in yours.

It hurts, but you turn your back on him.

You both know that nothing would've kept you together.

You both know that everything would've kept you apart.

You both curse fate, every single day.

Please R and R.

(She marries Ron at the end btw….)
