(heart)Late As Usual(heart)

Late, as usual. He stood outside of the house with the huge neon sign declaring the place to be Fenton Works, nervous. He had promised himself to be there on Valentine's Day, but there had been complications. The idiots working in the Dalv branch of Axion Labs had majorly screwed up one of the newer ghost hunting inventions, and he had been called in to fix it. It had taken days, because it had needed to be taken apart and reassembled, using newer parts which they had had to wait on, seeing as they were being delivered. Yes, there had been complications.

Of course, he wanted this to be as private as possible, so he stood, outside, in his ghost mode, invisible. The sun was setting. He could see the top of Danny's head through his bedroom window. Flying up there and phasing through the walls, Vlad waited as Danny—who had been sitting under the window—sensed him with a gasp of blue mist. A moment later, he was transforming into Danny Phantom, looking around for the ghost.

"Come out!" he called.

"With pleasure." Vlad said, becoming visible. Danny gasped, glaring at him, though it wavered slightly.

"What are you doing here, Vlad?" Danny asked, though it didn't come out as harsh as he wanted. Perhaps it was because he hadn't called Vlad 'Plasmius'?

"Oh, just here to wish you a happy Valentine's Day." Vlad said smoothly, giving no hint that he had any other intentions.

"Um, Valentine's was three days ago." Danny pointed out. "Besides, I hate Valentine's Day. Everyone acts so crazy about who they love and I get made fun of more because they either think I don't like anyone and no one likes me or Sam and me are a couple!" And, too himself though Vlad overheard: "I do like someone, but I wouldn't tell who he was." Though Danny didn't realize what he had just let slip—that he liked someone and that that someone was a boy. Didn't realize it until Vlad asked him something.

"So, will you tell me who you like?" Vlad said, moving in closer to Danny. A blush graced Danny's features, Vlad smirked at it.

"N-no…" Danny said, sounding more nervous the closer Vlad got. Sounding more embarrassed. "You'd think I was crazy or something."

"Oh?" Vlad said, feigning curiosity. "Since when did you care what I thought?" Danny gaped at him, his blush darkening and reddening his ears as well.

"I don't care!" It didn't sound very convincing to either of their ears. "I don't…" he repeated, even less convincing.

"Oh, good, then you won't care what happens if I do this, will you?" Vlad closed the distance—which was already small—sealing their lips together. Danny, stunned at first, didn't move. Finally, though, he responded, pushing the older halfa away.

"This is wrong." he whispered.

"But what do you care?"

"I…" he didn't say anything else. Vlad looked out the window, preparing to leave.

"If that's truly how you feel…" For a moment, Vlad really believed Danny was rejecting him. Then his thin arms were wrapped around Vlad's waist, pulling him back.

"Wait," Danny said. His lithe body was pressed against Vlad's back, hugging him. "Don't go. I just…" he began to stumble over his words. "I was, I mean, I was just, well, um…" Vlad turned in the raven-haired teen's loose grip and silenced his ramblings with a kiss. This time Danny responded immediately, moving closer and enjoying it. Vlad deepened it. It lasted a while, and when they parted, they gasped for breath.

Danny leaned his head against Vlad's chest. "I love you." he finally said.

"I love you, too." Vlad said. "Happy Belated Valentine's Day."

A/N: Happy Belated Valentine's Day! Sorry, I'm always late with this kind of stuff, but here it finally is! Please review. I accept flames. I love to bitch at the flamers! Well, bye!
