Welcome to my first venture into Kenshin fic! I hope you enjoy this little one-shot. It's a bit too large to be a drabble, I think.

Tokio gave the floor a last scrub and stood up, surveying the sparkling clean wood with pride in a job well done. Picking up her bucket, she went onto the porch and tossed the dirty water into the garden, pausing and watching the pouring rain for a moment before turning around and picking up the broom that was propped against the wall.

Somewhere near the front of the house, a screen opened and closed. "Tokio? I'm home," called Saitou, somewhere down the hall. Tokio walked towards his voice with a smile. Her husband hadn't been home for several days; not unusual, but she was always glad to see him again.

Saitou's voice next sounded from the kitchen. "Is there anything for dinner? I haven't eaten properly since I left home."

Tokio slid open the screen, opening her mouth to reply, but the words died in her mouth as she stared in horror at her husband.

Saitou's socks were clean, since he had removed his shoes, but the rest of his normally immaculate uniform was soaked in muddy-and quite possibly bloody-water. Tokio made a strangled noise as a glob of mud smacked onto the floor.

Saitou had hear his wife open the screen behind him, but hadn't heard a reply. The silence took on an icy quality which made him, years married, very nervous indeed. It was odd that former captain of the Shinsengumi would fear a woman, but then, Saitou reflected, very few of them had known what it was like to be married.

"Tokio?" he said, in a faintly nervous tone, slowly turning around, "Are you-"

It was a move never before seen or recorded as Tokio drew on hours of watching her husband practice swordsmanship as she did the laundry, lunged, and hit Saitou directly in the left shoulder with a broom-Gatotsu.

Even a goddess can have had enough. Especially if her clean floors are involved.

It took Saitou a week and a half to recover the full use of his left shoulder.

Sooo…I hope you enjoyed the drabble! Please do tell me what you thought. Amusing? Completely not?

Toodles!
