The Birth

"Hey Lulu!" a neighbor called to the gothic woman. Lulu smiled warmly and waved back to Winona, her friend. "How's the baby?" she asked as she ran up to Lulu.

"Fine. It would be better if it came out already!" she joked as she rubbed her stomach gently.

"I wouldn't say that if I were you, dear." the old woman Wayna warned. "I've had twenty children and it's a miracle I can still walk. The birth is so uncomfortably long and the pain! Don't get me started. All I can say is pray that your baby has a small head. I've had three big headed sons. In one birth! Yevon I couldn't move for weeks." She let down her long gray hair.

"But it's better to get it over with, right?" Lulu said nervously. She's never had a child before so she had not experienced labor.

"Oh yes!" Wayna said as she sat down in the wooden rocking chair in font of her home. "You wouldn't want a baby kicking in your stomach forever! But Sayen told me that this woman named Nita in Kilika has been pregnant for thirty years. Her stomach just grows along with the middle aged man. Or woman, I can't remember."

"Oh Wayna! You're gonna make Lulu worry!" Winona shouted at the woman. "And I wouldn't trust Sayen with a story that she can bend! Don't worry Lulu. You're going to be fine." She patted the now rattled woman on the back.

A week later, the baby was three days overdue. Lulu was pacing in her small home. Wakka, who was worried, approached Lulu.

"What's wrong, Lu?" he asked.

"The baby is two days late and what if it never comes out?" she whined tearing. "I'll be a 33 carrying a eight year old in her stomach!" She started to cry.

"Lu, it's actually three days late." Wakka said making the situation worse. Lulu started to cry louder until suddenly, water spilled on the ground.

"Uh oh." Lulu said as she stopped crying.

"What's 'uh oh'?" Wakka asked totally unaware of the birth process.

Lulu rolled her eyes as she started to run to the doctor. As she reached the doctor, she was breathing hard. "MY WATER BROKE!" she shouted as she fell on a bed. She started to shout loudly.

Wakka rushed in. "What's wrong?" he asked staring at the shouting woman.

"She's having contractions." Nuka, the doctor said patting Lulu's head with a wet cloth. She stopped as she began to breathe hard. "Get me Tamaya in here!" he yelled at Wakka. Wakka went into town in search for Tamaya.

"Tamaya!" he shouted as the villagers rushed to the beach. "I'm never gonna find her!" He rushed back to Lulu as he saw a woman enter the tent.

"Push, dear." the nurse said.

"I AM PUSHING!" Lulu shrieked.

Wakka came next to her. "You can do it."

"GET AWAY FROM ME BEFORE I STAB YOU WAKKA!" she shouted in his face.

"What did I do?" he asked.

"YOU DID THIS TO ME! I HATE YOU!" she shouted again as the nurse kept telling her to push. TELL ME TO PUSH AGAIN AND I'LL PUSH YOU DOWN A CLIFF! UNDERSTAND?"

"It's more like you're pulling." Nuka said.

Lulu snatched him up by his collar. "GET THIS THING OUTTA ME BEFORE I KILL MYSELF!" she shouted in his face. She screamed loudly again.

Wakka was in shock of what Lulu had just said. "Don't worry. Every woman gets emotionally during birth." Tamaya told Wakka. "But if things don't work out, you know where I am." she winked at Wakka. Lulu then grabbed Tamaya by the collar.

"TOUCH AND DIE, BITCH!" she shouted.

"I see a head full of orange hair." Nuka said as Lulu screamed louder. "It's a boy!"The baby looked just like his father and Lulu apologized for her words. Not to Tamaya but to Wakka and Nuka.

And the rest is history . . .
