Filling the Void
What do I do to fill the void in my heart?
When friends leave and family depart.
When riches fail and lusts deceive,
When satisfaction ceases to exist and all I can do is grieve?
What is the true goal people seek to appease?
To please themselves? To please others? Or just to please?
People seek to have a god to fully devote to,
I've learned that it doesn't have to be something they must pursue.
But there is a God who wants to comfort our hearts and fill that void,
He causes lost souls and desperate people to be overjoyed.
He comes to those who can open their hearts to receive Him,
But remains unknown to those who avoid and close their hearts to Him.
But even if God is avoided in your life, a void in your heart remains,
And I pity them and their lives in chains.
For God is the only thing that can bring true accomplishment in your life,
And one would be wise to find Him before you meet endless strife!
