There
are places we can't return.
There are lies we have to tell.
There
are truths we can't deny...
Harry cannot believe Draco. He thought they were in love. It was supposed to be love, and then Draco pushed him away. Pushed him so hard he fell into the stone wall cracking his head against it. "I can't love you Harry." That's all he could say, over and over again. No matter how many times he'd try to get a response as to why, he could never answer him. It was always,"I can't".
Several weeks later, Harry spotted Draco out shopping with a new house elf by his side. Both boys stopped and looked at each other. Both out of grief, hurt and discomfort. "Draco," Harry began, "please."
Draco turned away,"No Harry. You do not understand." He began to walk away from Harry, slowly. The house elf approached him and shoved a worn piece of parchment into Harry's hand.
"For you, sir." He bowed and followed Draco into the crowd. Confused, he unfolded the parchment. Scrawled in sloppy, smeared writing, that made it difficult to read, he finally understood why.
Harry, this has been the hardest thing I have ever had to do. No matter how difficult it may be, sometimes there are lies we have to tell, truths we cannot deny, and places we can't return. You are the place I cannot return, and because of you, there are lies I have to tell. You are a truth I cannot deny, and right now, I have to deny it, as much as it pains me to do so. One of these days though Harry, I promise, there will be no more denying, no more lying, and I can be yours forever.
Through tears, Harry finally found some faith.
