This is massive update for my B-day, and this chapter for my fic along with others, so as I said the reason I had this late is because a friend of my work on this fic to improve it. And I believe he did a great job, and I hope you do as well.
Anyway please enjoy this fic~!
Lucy smiled, flipping the page of the Hell newspaper in her hand, as she took a small break in a cafe that she thought was rather pleasant. Looking at her cup of green tea, Lucy sighed as she put a few sugar cubes into the tea, watching as they slowly broke down before she stirred the tea with a spoon.
"This tea is so bitter~," She whined, finding it difficult to be taken seriously as the Leader of Hell when she had a sweet tooth to deal with. It completely undermined the demonic and leadership vibes she's always having to keep up.
"Lucy~!" The leader of hell turned to look at her fellow demons that were walking up to her, easily ignoring the people that were in the way.
Pulling out an old fashioned pocket watch, Lucy looked at the time as she nodded, "It's that time, isn't it?" She mused, looking at how quickly time had passed, before putting the watch away as she waved them over to the table as a small green circle appeared above the table.
"Hello," The queen looked at the waitress who'd come over and smiled sweetly at her, "My friends have just arrived. Do you mind getting something for them? Just add it to my check."
"No, no! I'll pay," Baphomet chimed in, not wanting her queen to pay for all of them before taking out a gold coin and flipping it to the girl who caught it with a look of astonishment.
"We'll be taking all of your currently available sweets, tea-," "Ahem~!" "Oh, and all your coffee beans along with a cup of coffee," Baphomet requested, with Pandemonica having chimed in to remind Baphomet of her coffee, "And keep the change, sweetie," She said as the waitress quickly nodded before dashing to the cafe so that she could get their orders ready.
The group gathered around Lucy as they sat around the table as Justice smirked at what she "saw," "Heh, nice illusion barrier. Makes them think we're normal people," She chuckled as Lucy smirked behind her cup of tea.
"Of course, something like this is incredibly simple and easy for me to do," She said before turning to Cerberus, "So, how is our little lover?"
The girls all saluted in perfect unison as they spoke in tandem, "Master Naruto is safe and sound, currently eating at the Ichiraku ramen/soup/tasty place!"
Lucy smiled at this before saying, "Well, we've been here for a full two weeks, and I believe it's been long enough for us to finally advance our plans, don't you agree?" Lucy asked as the others all nodded. "Alright, now, I'll let you all know what I've discovered about the villages and any recent major events first and then Judgement, Pandemonica, and Justice will go next, before we finish with everyone else, agreed?"
Seeing all the girls nod their heads, Lucy spoke, "Very good, now, I'm not sure what year it is, but recently, something called the 'Third Great Shinobi War,' has concluded. Judging by the title, and various other bits of information I've discovered, it seems this era revolves around something similar to Ancient Japan with their main forces consisting of assassins. Ninja, or Shinobi, to be precise."
Hearing this, all the girls frowned, as this information reminded them of the fact that their lover had suffered from that occupation before he'd eventually died.
Seeing their expressions, Lucy let them settle for a second before she continued, gathering their attention again, "Now, unlike in the past, this is now an acceptable career and Shinobi clans often encourage their children to go down this path unless that clan has another option available. Also, it appears that this era doesn't have major cities, but instead has villages and towns with certain areas having kingdoms. And, while most villages are minor, there are Five Great Villages which stand above all others in terms of power, though, all villages are titled as 'hidden' based on their surroundings with only the most minor of villages and towns not having a title," she air quoted as they all chuckled on the obvious wall around them that didn't make the village discrete.
Taking a sip of her tea, Lucy cleared her throat as she continued, "Currently, the village we're in now is called, 'The Village Hidden in the Leaves.' Supposedly, this village is the first one to have been founded before the others, and has loads of money and several Shinobi clans that all have their own special and unique abilities. Next, it seems the Leaf have a treaty between themselves and the 'Village hidden in the Sand,' a village in the desert. Recently, however, it seems the leaf has been taking business from them due to clients sending requests here instead of to the Sand."
"That sounds like a time bomb just waiting to go off, I give it a few years before they get fed up and do something about this situation," Justice snorted, causing the others to laugh as they knew that humans were petty and far too easy predict when a human or group had too much power and another was backed into a corner.
Ignoring her friend's interruption, "The next major one is the Village Hidden in the Mist, though, while they are normally not the weakest of the main five villages, they've recently begun a civil war. No one knows why, but they've recently begun a sort of 'purging' of all those who have bloodlines. Based on what I've learned about the abilities in the Mist village, it seems that either the leader grew fearful of their ninja's potential or grew jealous of these clans' abilities that gave them more power than normal ninjas," She explained, offering her most logical opinions and viewpoints on what could have caused the purge to start, with the others nodding that they made sense, but wouldn't put too much weight in them until they, and Lucy, all learned the true reason for the purge.
"Next is the Village Hidden in the Clouds. Now, they often have problems with the Leaf, more specifically, trying to steal clan members of powerful bloodlines so that they can have their own, supposedly. One of which was even Naruto's mother," She said, surprising the others, "If it weren't for the fact she, and her attempted kidnappers, were already dead, I'd suggest that we go and annihilate those who were involved."
"There's still the whole village! Can't we just destroy them!?" Judgement asked, as she felt that proper punishment was still needed for those who'd wronged her beloved's mother.
"High Prosecutor!" Lucifer started with an annoyed look before she cleared her throat and said, "Maybe later. Lastly, is the Village of Stone."
"Heheheh."
"Zdrada, stop that snickering," She chastised when the immature member couldn't help but let out some giggling from her mind thinking of a low-brow joke, " Anyway, they have a rather bad history with Naruto's father as he took down a majority of them during the war, leading to them holding something of a grudge against the Leaf, with them having close to utter hatred for Naruto's father, which would no doubt fall to Naruto as well. Although, something is off with the recent war, as they had no real reason to attack the Leaf. So why the sudden attack?"
Lucy was the Queen of Rebellion and War when she fell, of course, it was all due to reasons that were her own. So, while she could understand causing wanton destruction, she couldn't understand what drove Stone to start the war. Something about the whole thing just seemed off to her, but just as she was about to start thinking more on the oddity of the war, the waitress brought their order and drinks. The amount they had ordered would normally be enough for twenty people, but considering they weren't human, this much was normal.
"Now, those are the major villages, also known as the 'Big Five,' due to them holding the most power, wealth, and resources amongst all the villages. Of course, there are minor villages, such as Grass, Sound, Star, Nade-whatever its called, Snow, and Waterfall. However, despite being minor, they make up for it by having unique powers, abilities, or even equipment. Unfortunately, while I was only able to learn some of their history here, I was unable to learn enough to call myself an expert. However, I did learn that the people of this era use something called, 'chakra.' Apparently, they use some type of spiritual and physical energy within their bodies to naturally form chakra to cast spells, or as they call them, 'jutsu.'"
"So, they need to use two separate energies in order to do anything?" Malina mumbled, drinking from her flask before pouring most of it into her coffee, "That's kinda lame. That means that they'd die if they used more than what they have."
Lucy nodded, "Indeed, though, this partially leads to the next topic, the attack of a demon fox called the 'Nine-Tails Demon Fox'. According to records, this creature is actually a giant mass of sentient chakra, and since chakra is a form of energy, it couldn't be destroyed, so it was instead sealed into our lover. This means that in terms of available power, our lover will have more than anyone alive, especially since his own will continue to grow with him as he gets older and trains."
Hearing this, the girls felt proud that, in this new life, their lover had the power to completely eradicate the village if he wanted to, and even more in the future.
With that, Lucy took another sip of her tea and said, "That is all I have to report on the history and power struggles of the villages at this time. If I learn more, I'll be sure to share it all with you. For now," She then looked over to Pandemonica, "What've you learned about this era's economy?"
At this, everyone turned to Pandemonica who was taking a sip from her coffee while she double-checked her notes, before she cleared her throat and said, "So, from what I've gathered, it appears that the village, like most rural villages, gain their money from their regional leader, which in this case, is someone called the, 'Fire Daimyō.'"
As she mentioned the Daimyō, Pandemonium pulled out a chart she'd made, showing the Daimyō at the top, "Daimyōs hold the most power in each region with only the Kage of each region being second in terms of power. Now, most of the time, they'd rather leave the ninjas alone to do their own thing and follow the Kage, the leader of the ninja forces, but some grow greedy and can be rather stupid. One example is the Wind Daimyō in the Land of Wind who's been using Konoha to save money, thus cutting any funding the Sand receive. Also, with the economy being in such a horrible state, many merchants and people in the market industry have used this time to their advantage in order to get their stores up and running with less cost to themselves. Finally, the money they use is called 'ryo' and while it does have a different name, it's no different to how money was used in Japan," The caffeine-addicted demon explained to everyone, with Lucy having grown a mischievous smile when she heard about merchants using the economy to their advantage.
"Tell me more about how the merchants used the economy to their advantage a little later," She said, with Pandemonica nodding her head as she wrote something down in the papers on her clipboard. Meanwhile, Lucy then turned her sights to Judgement, "Government?"
The dark skinned woman, hearing this, nodded her head before borrowing Pandemonica's chart, "So, just as Pandemonica said, every region does indeed have a Daimyō along with a Kage. Now, each Kage is the leader within each of the main five villages with their title changing based on which village they reside in. The one for the Leaf is called the 'Hokage' or 'Fire Shadow.' Now, while it is true that every region and sub-village report to the Daimyō, the main five villages are slightly different in that each one is based on a dictatorship with the Hokage having the final word."
Judgement then proceeded to add the words, "Advisors," and, "Council," to the chart underneath the title, "Kage," before continuing, "So, while each of the main five are indeed dictatorships, each of the Kage is allowed to assign advisors and even a council in order to assist them in running the village, whether it's from organizing markets, to keeping track of supplies and shipments with the Kage holding the final word. This is mainly due to each of the big five villages being ninja villages with them allowing civilians to join and take part in their economy."
She then frowned as she thought about what she found out with the Leaf's current Kage, something all the girls noticed before Judgement continued, "However, based on everything I've learned about the Leaf, it seems that the current Hokage has lost his backbone and power. While it's normal for the clan heads to be allowed to voice their own opinions and weigh in on major decisions, the current Hokage allows the civilian merchants to completely walk all over him, voicing their own opinions, and oftentimes, overturning decisions that should be made by the Hokage. Personally? I don't think the current Hokage is fit to lead anymore, especially since he was supposed to have retired, but was forced to take back the mantle of 'Kage' after his successor, our lover's father, passed away when he sealed away the Demon Fox. However, it seems as though the village is still in good condition, at least in terms of overall productivity, so I will wait before passing judgment. For now, I'll pass it over to Justice."
With that, her cheerful predecessor grinned as she began her report, "From what I've seen, their military is very similar to what we know, despite being ninjas, as they have a rank system that goes Genin, then Chunin, Jonin, and then the Hokage, with certain exceptions in between. The Genin are generally the rookies and foot soldiers, with them being fresh recruits who are then assigned into squads of four with it consisting of three Genin, and one Jonin. The Chunin are next and they usually aren't that impressive. Just think of them as Genin who've gained some experience and improved their skills a bit."
"Now, the real power comes from them," Justice then pointed up, getting them all to look at a silver haired man jumping over them, "The Jonin, basically the veterans who've proven they have the skills, experience, and jutsu arsenal, are the main force behind each village's military strength, aside from the Kage. Not only that, but it seems that every year, when a class of prospective Genin graduates from the academy, a group of Jonin are selected to become potential teachers and leaders for each squad formed."
Justice then crossed her arms as she leaned back, "Now, I say 'prospective,' because while they are assigned to a Jonin teacher, each squad then has to take a second, secret test that can be decided by the Jonin. If they pass the Jonin's test, they succeed in becoming Genin, if not, they're then sent back to the academy or are told to completely drop being ninja altogether. Now, it's actually not too bad of a test, since places like the Mist actually make it a requirement where prospective Genin have to kill their entire class in order to graduate."
With Justice finishing her report, Lucy hummed to herself as she leaned back and took in all of this information, "This place is so backwoods that the years before our Naruto arrived seem more like that of advanced technology. And we used to use fire and brimstone for Christ's sake…"
Taking a breath, Lucy sighed in annoyance before looking at Baphomet and saying, "Moving on, Baphomet, have you and the others been able to gather enough funds?"
At being put in the spotlight, Baphomet beamed in pride, "We do indeed, my queen," She stated before squealing when she saw the cute pastries that arrived at their table.
"Oh! What cute food~!" The goat lover said as she held up a stick of dango, "Ah such vibrant colors~!"
"Baphomet, please stay focused…" Lucy sighed as she took a chocolate chip muffin for herself.
At this, Baphomet snapped out of her appreciation for the cute sweets as she nodded, "My bad~!"
Clearing her throat, Baphomet spoke with a slight manic look in her eyes, "Using the lazy and rich people, we asked them if they could give us some of the old businesses they don't really want anymore. So now, they've signed over the deeds to various buildings and businesses for us to use in order to fix up, change, and put to work acquiring funds. Luckily, we also managed to get a kickstarter from those very same people."
Pandemonica nodded in agreement as she began drinking her sixth cup of coffee, "Indeed, and with some help from Malina, Modeus, and Zdrada, we were able to completely turn those old, run down stores and buildings into proper stores to begin making profit. So, should anything happen to those patrons later on, we now have a steady flow of money through these stores now being our own," She declared, smiling at the sweetness of her coffee, "Mmm, not bad. Although, it's nothing compared to his own brew," Pandemonica said, her eyes softening as she thought back to their lover.
"Well, before we continue this topic, let's at least finish our meal," Lucy said as the others agreed on wanting to finish the food. Technically, they didn't need to eat or drink, but none of them wanted to live like that. Especially when there were so many delicious sweets for them all to eat and enjoy with their lover.
The world as it was now was odd, as the food, their way of life, and mannerisms were so very different compared to their times.
After they'd eaten their food, leaving only a few snacks for later, they continued their meeting as Lucy said, "Now that we've had our fill, Cerberus, is there anything concerning Naruto that we need to address?"
The girls nodded rapidly, eager to talk about their beloved master, "As you know," The left "sister" started, "Master has been treated poorly because he's the container of that wild chakra," The middle "sister" continued, "This has made most people think it's a demon and, by extension, Master too," The right "sister" finished.
The three "sisters" growled at that thought, while the others also frowned, before the middle one spoke, "Not only that," The left then continued, "Some also throw our lord out from their stores," The right then picked up from here, "Though we can't harm them otherwise it would look suspicious on Master if the person who kicked him out was suddenly killed/murdered/die," The three finished together.
Justice glared at the ceiling as she leaned back in her chair, "They like to call us demons 'evil,' but then they prove that it's actually humans who are the real evil ones. After all, it's easier to call yourself a 'hero' and torture a child than to help and accept that they're an innocent child."
"Apparently, many of their loved ones were killed during the attack, so it would make sense that they would naturally harbor hate for the fox within our young love," The usually lustful demon murmured softly.
Malina didn't seem to care for her response as she spoke, "So that gives them the right to treat him like this!?"
"I didn't say that," Modeus said as she softly shook her head, "I just mean that we all know a small part of that pain. We all hated Beel for centuries until we finally calmed down. Love when ripped away from someone is a powerful reason to hate and to cling onto that hate, even if it's directed at the wrong person," She reminded them, getting them to look down in shame, as they thought they were better than humans but forgot that they have similar reactions, "That being said, we just need to show and give him our love and the best way to do that-"
"Judgment?" Lucy said as Judgment's eyes glowed as glowing chains appeared around Modeus, wrapping her up, getting Modeus to squeak at the tightness as she silenced her suggestion, "We're not having sex with a minor. Our Naruto wouldn't approve of us doing something so… sinful. Even if it is with his younger self. Anyway, Cerberus, please continue."
The group laughed at the irony of what their leader said, as Cerberus' last 'sister' started, "We killed the store owners," The middle one picked up, "The Drunks," The sister on the right continued, "And any normal people who openly said they hated Naruto/Master/Honey," They finished together.
The middle one then said, "While the leader has been investigating our kills," The left one continued, "He won't find any evidence thanks to Lucy/Queen/Lulu."
Lucy smiled before noticing the sisters squirming in their seats. Noticing their leader's gaze, The right sister began, "We also heard," The middle one continued, "That Master is going to get kicked out of that orphanage soon," The left one picked up, "Because of many of the children copying the caretakers' hate towards him," Then all three spoke at the same time, "They may not bully him, and we would kill them for treating Naruto/Master/Honey like an outcast but-"
"Children are off limits," Judgement warned the three who glared at her.
"We know," The three said at the same time before the left sister continued, "But we're talking about the caretakers," The middle sister continued, "If they die, the other kids would have a hard time surviving on their own," The right sister then said, "Even if they somehow survive and learn to take care of themselves," The left sister spoke up, "Naruto would eventually figure out that we were the reason behind their suffering," Then all three finished, "And he'd be mad/furious/unhappy."
At this, Judgement swiftly stood, "So we should let our king continue to suffer at their hands?! You might be his loyal canines but I was taken in by him and I won't let him suffer anymore!" She exclaimed while brandishing her claws out as they gleamed menacingly at the three girls whose teeth started to sharpen to points as they growled and snarled at Judgement.
"Judgement/Cerberus!" Justice and Pandemonica exclaimed as they tried to quell their friends' hostile natures. However, they suddenly felt an immense presence and turned to see Lucy had a look of disappointment as she finished her tea and stood.
"Enough, you all stay here. I'll be going for a walk to clear my head…" She sighed, unable to keep her stoic appearance. Walking away from the others, she could understand that taking Naruto away was a hasty move. But what choice did they have that could help him?
It's not like magic could erase all the hatred the Village felt in an instant.
Making people think something isn't there is easy, trying to forcibly erase an entire emotion could cause any number of problems, not to mention, lead the angels straight to them.
If it weren't for the fact that this level of magic is normal due to their kind being known to mess with humanity, Lucy would have cared a lot more about how much magic she was using and how many spells she's cast. Angels wouldn't look into illusion spells or small memory wipes, since both helped protect the supernatural from being discovered. However, an entire village that radiated magic and held no form of hatred would be the equivalent of them putting up a giant sign that said, "Here we are! Come fuck us up and send us back to Hell!"
With that thought, Lucy brought herself out of her thoughts as she looked around and realized she had no clue as to where she was. She could see a small river nearby, but she still had no clue where she was or whether she was still in the village as she mumbled, "Damn it, now where am I?"
"See ya Naruto!" Hearing this, Lucy's head snapped in the direction where she saw a trio of kids walking away from a nearby playground. One had a wild look and red markings on his cheeks, his savage grin reminding her of her own canine ally. Another seemed to be a lazy or tired kid who had his hair tied up in a way that made her think of a fruit of some kind. Finally, the last one was slightly fat- "Eep!" She quickly hid behind a tree when the boy looked at her.
What the hell was that? It was like he sensed when she thought about his weight. Scary~!
…
Looking back, she saw that he'd given up on looking for her, which made her sigh in relief as she watched them walk away. Her gaze became sad when she saw a young Naruto looking down, now noticing that he was all alone.
"My love…," She softly called out, taking care to not be heard, while she watched him sit down on the swing set, "No more!" Lucy said with confidence, before walking towards Naruto while also trying to calm her rapidly beating heart… one of those actions was not going well.
Naruto sighed as his friends left, sad that he was going to be alone once again, but was at least happy they would play with him everyday after they finished their day at the academy. Though, that never took away from the fact that most people still treat him horribly and that most parents tell their kids not to play with him.
"I wish I wasn't always alone," He said as he curled his hands around the chains of the swing, sad and angry at how unfair it was that he was treated poorly for some reason and he didn't have parents.
"Excuse me?"
Hearing a woman's voice, Naruto turned his head to see a woman standing nearby, slightly bending over him as she looked worried at him.
"Are you alright?" She asked him.
Hearing the question, Naruto was surprised that this woman was worried about him and didn't look at him with disdain and disgust. Realizing this, Naruto felt as his eyes began watering while tears fell.
"A-Are you ok?" She asked again with more worry in her tone than before. She moved her hand to his cheek, "You're crying."
"H-Huh?" Naruto sniffed as he felt his cheeks and realized she was right as he began wiping his eyes and said, "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just really happy because you're the first person to worry about me."
"Really? Does no one else worry about you?" Lucy asked, genuinely surprised at the lack of care Naruto's received over the years.
Naruto shook his head as he said, "No, most people just tell their kids to stay away from me and look at me like I did something terrible."
"Well," Lucy started, "That's not very nice, now is it?"
Naruto laughed as he shook his head, "It isn't. So, what's your name? I'm Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki."
"Lucy, my name is Lucy and it's nice to meet you, Naruto," Lucy replied.
"It's nice to meet you too," Naruto greeted back with a grin that caused Lucy's heart to skip a beat, "So, would you like to play with me or do you have to go too?"
"Sure!" She replied with a smile, "C'mon we got another few hours at least!"
With that, Naruto and Lucifer laughed in excitement as they went to the playground and began playing. From using the swings, to playing tag, to even using a ball that one of the kids from earlier in the day had forgotten. However, during the whole thing, Naruto never noticed that Lucy had a look of melancholy the whole time they were playing together.
Eventually, it started to get late with the sun beginning to set and the two had settled to spend the last bit of the day on the swings with Lucy pushing Naruto when she asked, "Hey, why hasn't anyone come to pick you up?"
At this, Naruto looked at her briefly with a sad look before he looked back out towards the sun as he said, "I'm an orphan, so I don't have anyone to come pick me up. I also don't have a home, as I live in the orphanage, but I don't like it there. The matron doesn't treat me nicely and doesn't let me play with the other kids or let me come out when adults are looking to adopt."
"But!" Naruto then looked at her with a grin and the setting sun behind him enhancing his golden colored hair as he said, "Despite everything, I know that everything will turn out right for me. I can feel it."
Hearing this, Lucy felt her heart break at Naruto's sadness and pain, hating the fact that this village treats him so horribly and that Naruto, no matter how much the village breaks him, always picks up the pieces of himself, refusing to let them change him.
"Would you ever want to leave?" Lucy asked as Naruto looked her in the eyes as she slowly stopped the swing. They looked at each other for a bit, not saying anything as Lucy let her question sink while Naruto thought about what she asked with the wind lightly blowing through the area as the sun finally set.
"If you wanted… I can take you away from here. My friends and I would take care of you and you'd never have to feel sad, or alone, and you could be happy all you wanted," Lucy said, hoping Naruto would accept her offer so that she could take him away from this awful village.
To her shock and surprise, he shook his head as he said, "No," Naruto then looked at her and gave her a soft smile as he said, "Thank you, but… I can't. I made a promise to myself that I would get people here to see me for who I am by becoming the Hokage of this village and protecting everyone."
Hearing this, Lucy's eyes widened as she looked at Naruto, amazed at his determination to thrive and prosper in a place that would do nothing but prevent him from doing so while scorning him the entire time. At the same time that Naruto told her this, Lucy saw a shadow behind Naruto of a man who she had met a long time ago after he'd willingly gone to her world in Hell.
Seeing this, she smiled, knowing that the one she loved was somewhere within Naruto, even if he doesn't know it as she then hugged Naruto tightly and squealed, "You're so cute~!"
The fallen Angel pinched his cheek as Naruto pouted before she stopped and said, "Tell you what, let's make a deal."
Naruto looked at her with a curious look as he tilted his head and repeated, "A deal?"
Lucy nodded her head and said, "That's right! You see, I'm going to be living in this village from now on and since I'll be living here, I'm going to be keeping an eye on your progress. If you can impress me, I'll get you some of those dumplings covered in syrup."
"Dango!?" Naruto asked as he looked at her in excitement at potentially getting a tasty treat.
"That's right, and not only that, I'll give you a big surprise as well," She said with a smile as Naruto smiled back at her.
"Cool~!" Naruto exclaimed in excitement, "I can't wait to make you proud Lucy nee-chan!"
Hearing this, Lucy couldn't help but blush as she knew that Naruto had just called her, "Big Sister," thanks to her remembering some lessons she'd been taught about the different meanings some words have in this world. Though, she knew that she'd have to keep Modeus from hearing this name for as long as possible, Lucy having no doubt that Modeus would find some way to pervert or corrupt such an innocent name.
~LATER AT NIGHT~
"It's about time!" Malina exclaimed, getting the other girls' attention, as they saw Lucy walking towards them after she'd disappeared hours ago, "Have you decided on what we're going to be doing?"
Lucy nodded her head with a smile as she said, "I have, and for now, we'll be staying as I met with darling earlier and it seems that he does not wish to leave this place."
The other girls were shocked that their queen had met with their loved one, and even more so, that he didn't want to leave this shitty excuse of a village. But then they started to get frustrated both because Lucy got to meet him before them, but also because she didn't try harder to convince him to leave.
"Why didn't you try harder to get him to leave!? Or we could have even taken him with us to Hell… and not in the way that it would normally sound," Zdrada said with a deadpan expression as it sounded pretty bad to most people.
"Because, that wouldn't be us trusting him," Lucy said as she shook her head, "He wants to stay here and prove to everyone of these poor, ignorant souls that they were wrong to treat him the way they do now. Don't you remember that our darling did the very same thing when he went to Heaven, despite having slaughtered thousands, all because he believed that he could prove himself!?" Lucy exclaimed at the girls, getting them all to flinch as they remembered what she was talking about.
"We cannot stop him from achieving his goal nor do we have the right to take him away just because it eases our minds. We're staying by his side and supporting him," Lucy said, getting them to agree, until she noticed something, "Zdrada~."
The others turned to look at their resident smoker and saw that she was standing next to a building with a lit match about to touch the wall while she looked at their leader like a deer caught in headlights.
"What do you think you're doing?" Lucy asked with a smile that was sickeningly sweet.
Zdrada looked between the match in her hand and Lucy before responding, "Uh, I was just gonna release some stress? Maybe cause a case or two of arson?"
Lucy sighed as she held her face, shaking her head at the same time, before looking at Zdrada and saying, "No arson, we're trying not to draw attention to ourselves, at least not anymore than we will have when we take in darling."
"Dammit fine…" The resident smoker grunted as she snuff out the flame before they all realized what their queen just said, "Wait, we're doing what now?"
The queen nodded as she crossed her arms, "You heard me, once we settle in and get everything we need, such as a house, maybe some jobs, and so on, we'll be taking darling in. Kind of like adopting him."
Justice smiled as she placed her hands on hips with her sunglasses flashing a bit, "So we're going to adopt him, huh? Dibs on being the fun aunt!"
"Di- dammit!" Modeus shouted at the universal dibs ruling! "Then I'll be-."
"No!" Lucy shouted, crossing her arms. "We aren't adopting him, we're just taking him in!"
At this, all the girls stopped their talks about what role they would have in Naruto's life and looked at their leader for an explanation.
"If we adopt him, we'd be putting ourselves in a position that makes it hard for us to later look at us as lovers. I don't want to abuse him wanting a mother or sister just to make it easier for us," Lucy says, getting all the girls to realize that they hadn't thought about it like that.
After a moment, Baphomet cleared her throat as she said, "Alright, so… what exactly will we be doing?"
Lucy crossed her arms as she lightly grinned, "Aside from changing our plans and moving them up a bit, we'll need to cast a large spell. However, this will be unlike any spell we've cast, and since a few of you don't have larger reserves, this will cause most of us to be unable to use magic for quite a long time. So before we do anything, I need to know, are all of you in?"
Hearing this, the others looked at Lucy in surprise at what she was suggesting, especially since being able to use magic was important in their lives. Looking at each other for a second, they then looked back at their leader with a fire in their eyes as Baphomet asked, "What do you need us to do?"
Hearing this, Lucy smiled as she thanked the girls and said, "Alright, Pandemonica, I want you to start looking into any businesses that are failing or shady and take them. Those will be our sources of income."
Pandemonica lifted her glasses as she nodded her head and said, "I'm way ahead of you, my queen. Earlier today, before we all gathered to give our reports, I was investigating certain shops and businesses and it turns out, a lot of them were doing very shady deals, embezzling money, or are just on the edge of going under. Using this information, I've had the ones embezzling money and performing shady deals give sign over their businesses to me while I used the money from those businesses to buy the ones that were going under."
Lucy grinned as she said, "Excellent! Keep up the good work managing those businesses, as we'll need a source of income. Next, we'll need a house, furniture, and everything. Baphomet, Judgement, and Justice, can I leave this to you?"
Baphomet smiled as she nodded and said, "No worries, I'll handle finding the perfect house and decorating it, your majesty."
Judgement and Justice then stepped forward with Judgement saying, "And we will make sure that we aren't cheated or scammed, my lady."
"We'll also make sure Baphomet doesn't go too goat crazy with the designs," Justice said with a grin while Baphomet pouted at this but understood.
With that, the group of demons continued talking about what all they needed to do and have accomplished before they proceeded with casting the spell their queen had planned in order for all of them to blend in without suspicion. They worked through half the night before finally finishing with all the preparations, at which point, Lucy had everyone use as much magic as they could to power the biggest spell any of them had seen.
~THE NEXT MORNING, KONOHA ORPHANAGE~
Naruto bolted awake when he heard the old caretaker shouting, "Hey brat, wake up! We've got a guest coming!"
After Naruto got out of his hard, uncomfortable bed, and got dressed, he went downstairs where he saw an older guy with gravity-defying silver hair standing with a bunch of little kids.
As Naruto came downstairs, he saw a tall, buff-looking guy with short, slicked-back, black hair and round sunglasses. Naruto also saw that the guy was wearing a red shirt and black pants with some fancy shoes. Meanwhile, behind the guy, Naruto saw two girls peeking out and looking at him.
The guy looked at Naruto and squatted down as he said, "Hello, I'm Frank Dos, and you must be Naruto?"
"That's right, how do you know my name?" Naruto asked, a little confused as to who this person was.
Frank motioned to one of the girls and said, "My daughter, Lucy, told me about you and how you didn't have any parents."
Hearing the name, Naruto looked at the girl that was being mentioned and looked at her strangely as he asked, "Weren't you a grown-up yesterday?"
The girl in question had long, white hair, pale skin, and red eyes and she was wearing a red shirt with a black skirt and some sandals. Hearing the question, Lucy giggled as she replied, "That's silly, how could I possibly be a grown-up? Don't tell me you thought I was a grown-up this whole time?"
Naruto blushed as he rubbed the back of his head and said, "I guess I must have been more tired than I thought yesterday from playing with my friends."
Lucy giggled before she looked over at the other girl and pulled her over, letting Naruto get a good look at her. Just like Lucy, the girl had pale, white skin, white hair, and red eyes, however, unlike Lucy who looked to be full of energy, this girl looked tired as she wore a red, long-sleeve shirt and black pants with sandals as well. She also wore round glasses and her hair, unlike Lucy's straight hair style, was curled all over the place.
Naruto smiled as he said, "Hello, it's nice to meet you."
The girl, despite looking at him with tired eyes, gave him a small smiled as she yawned out, "Hello, I'm Pandemonica."
Naruto smiled at the girls, who smiled back at him, before they heard chuckling and looked to see Frank smiling at them as he said, "Well, it looks to me that you three are getting along just fine."
At this, the three blushed, before Frank then said, "So, Naruto, what do you say about me adopting you?"
At this, Naruto was surprised and shocked that someone actually wanted to adopt him, and he suddenly began tearing up. Feeling this, Naruto quickly wiped his face before grinning at Frank and saying, "Yes! Please adopt me!"
Frank then stood up as he began rubbing Naruto's head while Lucy and Pandemonica began hugging his arms. With that, the four of them left the orphanage, planning to get Naruto some new clothes and some food for all of them to eat.
~THAT NIGHT~
After the four of them left the orphanage, they had bought Naruto a bunch of new clothes, and even bought a ton of food for them to enjoy once they'd got home. At first, Naruto was confused at how much food they'd bought, but when they got home, Naruto understood why they'd bought so much food.
Coming to the house, Naruto entered and saw a bunch of other girls in the house. Most of them had the same white hair, pale, white skin, and red eyes, and seeing this, Naruto began to think all the girls were sisters. However, when he asked Lucy, she told him that aside from the group of three who were sticking shoulder-to-shoulder with each other and the two grumps, the rest of them simply shared the same characteristic because they were all from the same clan.
Hearing this, Naruto was surprised but he couldn't help but look at all of them in awe and a little sadness, since even if none of them had their parents like him, since Lucy and Pandemonica had told him that Frank was also their adoptive father, they all had each other, while he was completely alone.
Lucy must have seen that he was sad, since she grabbed his hand, breaking him out of his thoughts, and dragged him over to the other girls, who all smiled and gave him hugs and various forms of greeting. He was introduced to all of them, with all of them being more than happy to welcome him.
He liked the sisters, though they liked to be called Cerberus, he guesses it was because they liked to stick together so much. Modeus was nice, however, there was something about the way she looked at him that sent shivers down his spine. Justice was fun, she was very laid back and he could tell he'd have fun playing pranks with her. Judgement seemed a bit strict, but Naruto could tell that she was nice underneath it all. Zdrada and Malina were nice, and he could tell that while they were grumpy, they didn't let it affect how they treated others. Finally, there was Baphomet, and she was really nice, though, Naruto did notice that she seemed to have a strange obsession with goats.
After introductions, they all ate together with Naruto sitting next to Lucy and Pandemonica before they eventually had to call it a night.
Naruto smiled as he entered into his new room that had air conditioning and lots of space, and a large, new, and incredibly soft bed. Seeing his bed, he immediately jumped on the bed, loving how soft it was. Feeling how soft the bed is, Naruto began to close his eyes, ready to fall asleep in his new home with his new family.
Knock Knock
However, before he could fall asleep, he heard knocking at his door and sat up to see Lucy at his door, "Lucy, are you okay?"
The young lady didn't say anything as she looked down, "Umm, can I… sleep with you? I had a nightmare."
Hearing this, Naruto moved over a bit and patted the bed as he said, "C'mon, It's okay, I have nightmares too sometimes and I'd like to have someone here with me."
At this, Lucy smiled before she quickly came over and joined him in bed. Naruto felt as she snuggled up against him while he smiled. Just as he was about to get comfortable, he heard steps approaching his door and looked to see Modeus at his door.
"Can I join too? Bad dreams…" She answered as Naruto nodded.
After Modeus, one by one, all the other girls came to his room as they all asked if they could sleep with him because they all suffered nightmares with Naruto not denying any of them, since he loved the fact that he now could feel his new family surrounding him, giving him the peace of mind that he's no longer alone or in that terrible orphanage.
Naruto looked to see Lucy hugging his left arm. Baphomet was on his chest, snoozing softly. Zdrada and Malina were sprawled out next to his feet. Justice was snoring loudly with Judgement silently sleeping on top of Justice. Modeus was hugging his body while the Cerberus triplets were hugging his legs with one in between the other two. Finally, Pandemonica was next to Modeus and was hugging his right arm as she had a gentle smile.
Seeing all of this, Naruto smiled, happy that he'd finally found a family that wanted him and made him feel like he belonged. Closing his eyes, Naruto slowly fell asleep as he said, "Thank you," before he fully fell asleep.
Just as he fell asleep, Lucy and the rest opened their eyes, looking at Naruto as they all smiled sadly at Naruto before hugging closer to him as they all fell asleep with the exception of Lucy who stayed awake and looked at the group before looking at Naruto with a smile before she settled back down and held his arm a bit tighter than before.
"I love you… my king," Lucy said before she kissed his cheek as she and the others all fell asleep, with all of them agreeing the next morning that for the first time in a long time, they'd finally slept well once more.
