"talking"

'thinking'

voice in Sasukes' head (lol)

"C'mon Sasuke! Please come with me!" the blonde said, giving his friend a pleading look that almost no one could resist. Sasuke felt a wave of mixed emotions for the boy. Annoyance and anger were two feelings he recognized almost immediately, the others he wasn't so sure about. Naruto had been asking his friend to go see the fireworks with him at the local community collage for the past week or so, and each time he got the same answer; no.

Sasuke glared at him for a few moments before looking away. "Fine." he said quietly.

"Yatta!" screamed Naruto, bouncing up and down, causing several people to stare at him. Sasuke sighed, immediately regretting saying yes to the kitsune.

Time skip!

They sat on a blanket they had brought and laid out on the grass and were watching the sky, waiting for it to get darker so the fire works could start. Sasuke was still pondering the feelings he had felt towards his friend, but was having no luck. He snuck a glance at Naruto and saw the blonde boy propping himself up with his arms and staring up at the sky with his beautiful eyes. Sasuke licked his lips hungrily thinking 'Dang, he looks so sexy…' He blushed and turned away.

Naruto looked over at his friend. 'Is Sasuke blushing?' he thought, bewildered, 'Did I say something wrong?' He shrugged it off, 'If if had been me, he would have yelled at me…'

'Why would I, or anyone else for that matter, think Naruto's sexy! First off, he's a guy, and secondly, he's my friend. Friends don't think their friends are sexy, especially if they're the same gender! What would he think if I told him about that? He'd think I'm gay! I most definitely am not!'

Then why don't you ever go out with the girls that ask you out? asked a voice in the back of his head.

'I…I just don't like them, that's all.' he thought stubbornly, trying to push voice to the back of his head. But the voice had other plans.

Right, the voice continued sarcastically, then what was that feeling you felt earlier? Could it be love?

'Love!' he nearly screamed, 'No way!'

I think it was.

'Not!'

Was.

'Not!'

Was.

'Not!'

Not.

'Was!'

Ha! You admit it!

'Gyaaa!'

"Are you ok, Sasuke?" asked Naruto, bringing him back to reality

He looked at Naruto and felt a sudden longing towards the boy that he had never felt before. Naruto looked back at him with his big blue eyes. They both blushed in the fading light, but neither looked away.

Sasuke put his hand on Narutos' and they both started leaning closer towards each other. Their lips had almost touched when suddenly a loud bang rang through out the surrounding are fallowed by a flash multicolored lights. Naruto quickly turned his attention towards the sky as more fireworks fallowed.

Sasuke blushed and mumbled curses at the sky for interrupting him and Naruto. He tried to get the younger boys' attention, but failed miserably as he was so intent on watching the fireworks to the end, occasionally 'Oohing' or 'Aahing'. It was then that Sasuke realized that he hated fireworks.
