Watching the Sunset
Sora' POV
I walked by the beach, in my blue sky t-shirt and my black shorts. I walked looking at the horizon and saw what I always dreamed of. An auburn haired girl was sitting on the shore looking at the beach. I hesitated but walked towards her. My heart began pounding, I was getting sweaty and I couldn't say a word. I sat down but she didn't notice me. She was holding her legs in her hands. I put my arms, from behind her, around her body. She didn't turn around, maybe she knew it was me. I rested my head on her shoulder and we watched the sunset together. It had been so many times that I wanted to do this, by saying this is what I'll do in a few minutes.
"Sora, isn't the sunset beautiful?" she asked whispering. Her beautiful voice played like a melody in my ears.
"Yeah, but it's not the most beautiful thing in the world." I replied. We both stood up with my arms around her still.
"What is the most beautiful thing?" she asked.
"Kairi, you'll get to know it later." I said to her kissing her cheek. I couldn't control myself. It was like someone was controlling my body and making me do things I really wanted to do but I was afraid to do them. I blushed and felt Kairi's heart pound. She was getting uncomfortable.
"Is this uncomfortable for you?" I asked her.
"No, but it's the first time you do this." She replied with her sweet voice. I could smell her scent that smelled so good.
"That's because now it's different for me." I said without thinking. Where was I leading this conversation?
"I know we're best friends and all, but I thought we could be more than that." I said still without thinking. I didn't know what was controlling me but I was happy.
"You mean…" she started. I gave a quick kiss on the cheek. She turned around facing me. I looked into her lavender eyes. I observed her and she was blushing. She looked at me straight in the eyes.
"Could we make it happen?" she asked. I knew what I was going to say next.
"Anything is possible with you." She stared at me and a smile came upon her face. I cupped her chin with my right hand and leaned. She started leaning until our lips met. This was really me doing this, I had the courage to kiss her and not to be afraid. We pulled away catching for breath.
"So, do you want to go out with me?" I asked. "Because Kairi, I love you."
"Yes I do. I love you too Sora." She answered as we met into another kiss. We pulled away and I took her hand. We started walking along the shore, the sun had finally disappeared and the moon and the stars made its appearance. We lay on one spot and gazed at the stars together. I was finally going out with her and I had revealed my feelings. Now I know why I really liked watching the sunset.
