.Starlight

The stars are bright. All the lights are worlds he's saved. And some...

Some he couldn't.

Dark blue patches between the shines and sparkles, and he wonders if once upon a time there was only light.

He stares at the sky and thinks about what he could've done, and the losing-battle he'd sort of won, and the people who forgot him, and the people he'd forgotten.

That last one hurts the most.

"I forgot something important," He says slowly, and turns to Riku, who sits beside him on the tree trunk. Kairi is on his other side, and watches the shimmering ocean - pure light, shifting with the waves. She looks up at him, and looks as though she'd like to say something, but not all of her knows exactly what.

"It's not too late," Riku says for her. For the waves within the ocean, who can never gain control. He can see the nobodies; land rests under oceans, and land rests beside it. When you are truly beneath everyone, you can see them clearly.

The sky is above everything, and can look down on it all. So Sora turns to Kairi and says "Thank you, Namine," and the waves are strong enough to smile. Paler skin, lighter hair, and a gentle look before it's gone. Kairi looks back to the ocean, and Sora sighs contentedly before turning to Riku. "It's amazing how you know everything," he says reflectively.

Riku flinches at the praise.
