Anichan
A/N: I made this ficlet as a challenge using five words and writing a five hundred word drabble.
To make it more interesting, I had to use the words according to their number on the list. That means that the first word could only be used once, the second word only twice and etcetera.
That said, here are my
words:
1 - Critical
2 - Reading
3 - Bed
4 - Come back
5 - Collection
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.
Sakura sighed and kicked off her sandals before collapsing into her collection of stuffed animals on her bed. She lay there for a while, staring blankly at the ceiling. Finally, she forced herself to get up. She had some reading to do.
She swung her feet over the bed and approached her growing collection of medical texts Tsunade had her study. Groggily, she lifted a hand to turn on the small desk lamp and opened the book she was currently on. Her attention slipped in and out but she finally had a bit of a comeback when she spotted her old diary sitting under a hastily placed knick-knack.
Unable to fight the urge, Sakura reached out and grabbed the small book. It was a small but thick red book, decorated with various doodles. And Sakura couldn't help but smile as a wave of nostalgia hit her.
She retreated to the comfort of her bed to begin reading the diary. Opening the book she paused. Pouring through the whole thing in one night wouldn't be a bright idea. Instead ,she would have to just glance at a few and come back to the books she was supposed to be reading in the first place.
She opened to a random page.
I wish he would come back.
Haruno Sakura
She frowned. There was a collection of wasted pages with variations of that one sentence.
Suddenly, her green eyes narrowed as she grabbed a kunai from the pouch discarded on the chair. She quietly tiptoed to the window. Looking outside, she saw a strangely familiar, dark figure take off on the rooftops of the houses.
Not thinking clearly, she wasted no time in climbing out to the tree outside the window and chasing after him barefoot. He managed to evade her until the row of houses came to an end.
He threw a small barrage of shuriken and disappeared as Sakura desperately ducked to dodge them.
She gave up and returned to her own room before collapsing on the floor and reprimanding herself for her own stupidity.
What was she thinking? What could she possibly do with no shoes and only one kunai? That was extremely foolish of her…
Sighing, she realized why she did that. The strange lurker…he looked amazingly like Sasuke.
She shook her head wildly in an attempt to dismiss the thought. Had a few entries in an old journal caused these plaguing thoughts to come back? Wherever this critical weak spot in her psyche had been hiding, it needed to go back, now.
Still, she couldn't help but wonder…what if it was him? Maybe there was a small chance that Sasuke had decided to come back!
With this thought plaguing her, there was no way she would be able to calm her mind. She strapped her weapons pouch on and slipped on her sandals. There was a high chance that this would just be another moment of nostalgic recollection that got her in trouble, but she'd take the chance.
