Theme: #2 - News; Letter

The letter came on a Thursday. The funeral was held on a Sunday. The shock and reality of what had happened didn't hit until later that night as she reminisced the good times with the others at the Burrow.

"I just remember thinking he was this… this invincible person, never letting anything affect him too much," said Lee somberly as he looked down at his half-empty bottle of butterbeer.

"I think this means that everything is about to get worse," said Alicia quietly. "With no Dumbledore, we really don't have much hope, do we?"

Angelina's stomach lurched. Alicia's words kept echoing in her mind for the rest of that night.

Gradually, the others left, and Angelina and Fred were the only ones still sitting out in the dark half orchard, half quidditch pitch.

"Everything's going to change," mused Fred as he looked up at the sky. "We're really in for it now. It's like Alicia said - we're toast without him."

Angelina shuddered. The world seemed to be spinning out of control, and the only person who could keep it steady was in no position to do so any longer. She couldn't hold back the tears any more.

Fred's attention shifted from the sky to his companion. "Are you all right, Angie?"

She shook her head. "I'm scared, Fred. What's going to happen to us? Are we even going to survive this?"

He turned and hugged her close. "We'll be fine. It'll be all right. We'll make it through."

If anyone had been watching that night, one would've sworn that Fred Weasley kissed one of his closest friends.

Notes: Remember how I said... oohhh sometime last year that I'd do that multi chapter fic? I'm still going to do it; just not yet. I want to get this done to work on getting them in character better first. This should help me figure out how they'd both react in different situations, though, so once that fic gets written, they'll be much better than they would be if I had written it last January like I said I would.
