Disclaimer: I own nothing, if I did, I wouldn't be writing fanfiction. I would be famous, every wizard, witch and muggle all over the world would know me, love me…

Author's Note: This is my version of Odo's song, which Hagrid and Slughorn sang at Aragog's funeral. I thank BAGGE and Dead-Luthien for inspiring me to write this, and expect them to forgive me as it's not as good as their's. For the others, I advise them to read up all the other Odo poems, a full list of which is given on BAGGE's profile. Read, review, and be nice.

When the Times Are Dark

I. Long ago in England, the times were dark and bad,

Laments rent the air and hearts were dismal sad-

There ruled Grindelwald, the most feared of his times-

Evil were those days and evil still his crimes.

The wizard-kind had lost its hopes, the hapless muggles worn,

Every owl brought news of death, of families apart torn,

There rose a man amongst the slain, and lo, he revenge vowed,

Bravely went he to seek Grindelwald, armed and battle-proud.

He was Odo, a simple boy, fresh out of school

Who had lost his all, family, friends, under the evil rule.

So he went to kill that man, who played with the land's joy,

For no one else should suffer again and be another's toy.

It wasn't easy, for he was young, and Grindelwald was strong,

But Odo knew that if you believed, Good would defeat the Wrong.

He had no powers except his grieving heart, full of love and pure,

And his ardent wish to bring back peace and love and joy to ensure.

II. And so he fought with all his might,

The battle lasting all the night,

He gasped in pain, but never gave up,

And stood upright to blows so sharp.

His ragged breath made choking sounds,

The enemy laughed like greedy hounds,

But he fought and fought,

And victory sought,

And gave Grindelwald a mortal blow!

And as he fell, Odo laughed,

A laugh of joy untouched with pain,

His bloodied face did with pleasure glow

As the heavens let their tears rain.

And they took their hero home,

Under the Yew tree laid him to rest,

They praised him high, and built a tomb

And put his name down with the best.

III. When times are bad,

Don't be sad,

Stand and fight,

With all your might,

For Odo's has shown that with courage true,

Victory will always come to you.

P.S: I guess the rhyming is real bad, sorry!
