Yumi smiled as she stood at the bus stop and went into town; she was going to see Rei again today, they had been seeing each other while Rei had been in town for the last few months. Rei had promised her a nice date after running out on her on the last two, she tried to always keep up a smiling face. Though she was thinking that if he did it again this time, that maybe it wouldn't be worth it. She laughed as she saw the bus come to a stop. She hopped on and went to the back where she sat after paying the toll.
She sat on the comfy chair next to the graffiti filled window and smiled as the bus began to make its long trip to this place where Rei had promised to meet her. She blushed just thinking about it, he would be trying hard for sure this time, she had called him and warned him half jokingly, half serious about how she had been left in the cold too many times by him. She put her headphones for her mp3 player and began to listen to her music, there would be a bit to wait for this long trip.
A beeping of a mobile phone ring tone awoke Yumi from her trance as she looked down to see her phone was ringing out. She had several messages, "must have drifted off," she sighed and picked up the phone to say, "hello" she said listening for the reply.
"Hey, uh this is Rei's friend Kai…Rei told me to call you…he sent you messages apparently I was just checking, you didn't take the whole bus trip did you?"
"Yeah, why?" she replied.
"Well, Rei can't come, but…geeze, I will come and get you…Rei owes me this time"
"Fine" she said sounding disappointed as she saw her bus pull into the stop where she was supposed to meet Rei for this wonderful date he had planned she hung up and stepped off the bus. She sat down on the bus stop stool and sighed as the rain began to pour down, there was no roof on this one…she had to wait in the rain as Kai rushed down to get Yumi from where Rei had left her.
"Hey" Kai said as he pulled up and looked to the girl soaking in the rain and said, "So I guess you are not happy" he said looking at her opening the door for her. "Maybe you should talk to Rei about this…" he said sighing getting into the front seat next to her.
They drove off silent in the car, Yumi was definitely not happy and it didn't take a rocket surgeon to tell this. They stopped at a petrol station on the way and Kai went inside to pay and get things while Yumi got out a bottle of wine she had taken out with her opening it and began to drink right from it pretty quickly, she was going to share it with Rei tonight for their second time she was sure that would happen. Kai returned with some hot chips and said, "I thought you might be hungry…" he looked at her and sighed as he saw her into the drink and he climbed in closing the door saying, "maybe you shouldn't be drinking that… not so quickly," he drove away to the side where he began to eat and said, "I got you some of these to" he said handing them to her.
"What are you looking at?" Kai said as Yumi looked at her and said, "Stop, I thought, you and Rei" he said as she moved closer to him.
"Rei wasn't here, you are," she said as she touched his face, "besides I know he doesn't really want to be with me, now shut up" she said as she pressed her body against his and her lips against his.
"Wait…." He said holding her back, "you don't want to do this!" He looked to her, "You are drunk," he said and she put her finger over his mouth.
"Even just now, just please, Rei doesn't need to know…" She said as she kissed him once again…
