She was a leader by day and a lover by night. She led her people during the day, and she loved him with every fibre of her being by night. She couldn't afford to mix the two. He couldn't mean more to her.
He was a warrior by day and a lover by night. He fought a great battle during the day, and he loved her with every fibre of his being by night. He couldn't afford to mix the two. She couldn't mean more to him.
Maybe they could win their battle, but together they couldn't win their war.
