Blue Blades
Chapter 1

Han Solo and Chewbacca were once again headed to the run. This time it was purely for the shake of having fun. Lately, a trip to the run meant something disastrous had occurred with in the realm of the New Republic. He had waved good bye to the kids and Leia and headed out to meet Chewie to make one final repair on the Falcon. Course there were never last repairs on the Falcon or any ship for that matter. After two days in the Falcon Han finally got some rest with Chewie reassuring him that the Falcon would always be okay in his care. Not that Han himself needed any reassurance, but his body did. Otherwise, his sub-conscience would kick in and he would stay up all night thinking about her. The Run was only a day away anyway.

After, a good night sleep Han reclaimed the controls of the Falcon. Chewbacca went back to eat some breakfast, lunch, and dinner the cool down and get some rest himself. Han thought he was probably dreaming of his home world. When Han sat down in the captain's chair he noticed something odd out of the right side of the view windows. An imperial star ship, what was it doing on course to the Run. He decided not really follow; after all it may be left overs from the Empire. As Han neared the rented docking bay on the Run, he yelled for Chewbacca. "Chewie, we are here!" The protocol for landing at the bay was to notify security and back ups in case something were to miss fire.

"Security this is the Millenium Falcon notifying you that we are ready to land."

Nothing, not a sound came through the communication. Han changed the frequency and Chewie growled. "I'll try again Chewie, but I find this rather odd."

When landing any craft especially one this size in any docking bay needed instant communication. There wasn't any for twenty-minutes. Han nor Chewie liked not having that option open. Especially since the Falcon was way past it's prime. "Chewie, check the radio and make sure there are no loose wires." Chewie bellowed out his affirmative. There were no loose wires. "Well, looks like we've got land blind. Not that is a problem right Chewie."

He felt a thud as the Falcon hit the docking bay floor. That 'thud' was not unusual new pilots to the Run never expected it, but old pilots like Han new a soft landing was never possible even for the experienced locals.

"Chewie, let's lock her up tight, added security, I feel like something is really wrong."

Arrrgh. Chewie replied. Han and Chewie unload making sure their weapons were in check, and then debarked from the Falcon. Stillness and it was eerie. Where is every one? Nothing on the Run was ever this quiet. They headed toward the check in area. No one was there. "I thought we were going to have a vacation, Chewie."
