A/N: I found this when cleaning junk out from under my bed. It was an assignment from Harry Potter Camp (yay!) about a month ago. It is yet another sweet and fluffy oneshot, this one a Neville/Luna. If you want, I can continue the story, but as this oneshot is already written I might as well post it. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I am not J.K. Rowling. If I was, I wouldn't be writing this, I would be fending off manic fans with a cudgel. (Not that there's anything wrong with manic fans, I am one in fact, just not of HP : ) So we can safely assume that I'm not making any money from this story and I don't own any rights to Harry Potter.

Luna Lovegood sat in the library, examining a book on the nature of heliopaths. It had been written some years ago by the same person whose article on heliopaths working for the Ministry was published in her father's magazine. Her new pair of glasses, a Christmas gift that was also supposed to aid in the detection of nargles, perched at the end of her nose as her eyes scanned the pages.

There was a crash from a nearby rack of shelves. Luna looked up just long enough to see Neville Longbottom picking up a fallen stack of books. She returned to her reading. She was interrupted again, however, when Madame Pince flew down upon the unfortunate Neville, berating him for treating her precious books so carelessly. When he finally managed to escape her, tripping several times in the process over books and his own feet, he dropped into the chair next to Luna.

"Oh, hello," she said vaguely.

"Hi, Luna. Blimey, that Madam Pince is touchy. It's not like I dropped them on purpose…anyway, have you heard anything more about the D.A.?"

Luna looked up again, but this time she closed her book.

"No, I haven't. I don't know whether we'll be meeting at all this year or not," she said rather sadly. Neville nodded.

"I've still got my Galleon. Have you?" he asked, pulling the magicked coin from his robe pocket as he spoke. Luna took hers from her purse. Both of them looked wistfully at the circles of gold as though wishing to see something more than just a coin.

"I've been going to the Room of Requirement to practice the spells we learned, you know," said Luna.

"You have?" asked Neville. "Blimey, I never thought of that! Maybe- no."

"Maybe what?" said Luna.

"Maybe- you'd like…a partner?" he asked dubiously. "I mean, I need practice too, and it's not the same without a real person to practice with, and I'll understand if you say no, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked, it was silly of me."

Luna, though, was grinning from ear to ear.

"Would you? Would you really? Oh, that would be so much of a help!" she said excitedly.

"Oh, it's nothing," mumbled Neville, his face scarlet.

"When are we going to meet?" she asked.

"Um…how about…Thursday?" he offered.

"Yes, I can do Thursday. But then I'll have to get that Potions essay done by tomorrow, and I need to finish that star chart for Professor Sinistra…I've got to go, I've got so much homework to finish, but thank you, Neville. You're so sweet."

She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. Then she hurried out of the library. Neville just sat there, motionless, his cheek tingling. It occurred to him that their meeting would be something like a date.
