((A/N: Ah, I just thought I'd write one more drabblish oneshot before returning to my other poorly written story! ((laughs))
I thought of this while reading through some manga scans.. So, there might be spoilers.
But, you know, why are you reading ANY of my stories if you're worried about spoilers? ((sweatdrop))
ah, nevermind..
here's the story..))
Falling On Deaf Ears
It happened so quickly, so unexpectedly.
There was a screech, a crash, and a sharp pain spreading throughout her entire body. She stared upwards, spotting a patch of orange. 'Kyo?'
She tried to speak, but her voice came out raspy. She coughed, recognizing the coppery taste of blood instantly. Why was she bleeding? What could have possibly happened?
The orange headed boy was now staring, tears welling up in his eyes.
Was she dying?
"Ta -" She choked, crimson streaming from her open lips. "I'll never forgive you." She muttered. She had to remind him, at least one last time.
A great pain overtook her, and the world around her seemed to disappear. 'No!' Her mind screamed. 'I can't leave now, not yet!'
The world faded away, along with her mind's screaming. Everything was blank, all silent but the screeching of an ambulance. Kyo gaped, backing away quickly. 'I'll never forgive you.' It was his fault. He could have saved her, but he was a coward, always thinking of himself.
An existence made up of others' sacrifices and others' lives.
He ran, seeking the shelter of anywhere - a rooftop, Shishou's home, the cage. He just needed to escape, leave behind the paramedics' yells and the fire truck's screaming.
'I'll never forgive you.'
He shuddered, falling to his knees. There he was, running away like the monster he was. First his mother, now Kyoko. How many more would he kill before they locked him away? Would Shishou die for taking him in? Would his family die for even looking at him?
'I'll never forgive you.'
"Mom.." A voice called. It was vague, sounding distant compared to the ringing in her ears "Please be okay." It was her daughter, the daughter whom she'd failed, crying softly at her side. Kyoko couldn't move, couldn't speak, couldn't even think. She hoped her orange headed friend had heard correctly, praying to God that he'd carry out her wishes.
'Take care of Tohru..
Or I'll never forgive you..'
And unknowingly, he obliged.
((A/N: ah, I probably got it all wrong, but I'm a bit proud of myself.
This will be the FIRST EVER non coupled Fruits Basket fiction I've EVER WRITTEN! (yay!)
Sorry for any errors!
