Prologue
April 22nd, 1978
8:03 P.M.
A scream.
Silence.
The wail of a newborn child.
The joyous cry of a new mother.
These are just a few of the things one would hear if they were to stand outside of room 2103 at St. Mugo's Hospital for Witches and Wizards. But the important thing this day was not what one could hear, but what one could see.
And nobody could see the look of longing in the mothers eyes, the sorrow in the fathers, and the brief look of despair that flashed across both parents faces as they realized that the miracle held tightly in the mothers arms could never be theirs.
I decided to remove this story for a bit, seeing as the chapters I have already put up were very sloppily written and poorly researched. I'm in the process of revising them, but I am afraid you shouldn't expect to see them for quite a bit. I apologize for this.
