I knew he wouldn't, who would want to be friends with someone like me?
But he did. He got teased by his friend, but he didn't mind, was what he told me.

"I promise that I'll tell Riku to stop picking on you!" The boy with blue eyes said.
I knew he wouldn't, he can't stop his own best friend.
But he did. He came back with a huge smile on his face and a black eye.

"I promise that I'll come to your birthday!" The boy with blue eyes said.
I knew he wouldn't, he was grounded for fighting with Riku.
But he did. He came and got grounded another two weeks.

"I promise that I'll show you the Secret Place!" The boy with blue eyes said.
I knew he wouldn't, it was only for his best friends.
But he did. You're my best friend, too, was what he said.

"I promise that I'll get you a paopu fruit somehow!" The boy with blue eyes said.
I knew he wouldn't, it's too embarrassing.
But he did. After all, he did say "somehow."

"I'll come back to you, I promise!" The boy with blue eyes said.
With all of the promises he made up to then, I learned the right answer.
"I know you will."
