Officially, there was a droid rebellion. However, it was short and quickly ended by the next day with all droids destroyed and the Geonosians that weren't killed were put under arrest.
As it was put on the official record, a group of Rebels came down trough the Mustafar atmosphere and landed on Wave point Station A-262, along the main lava river. They reactivated hundreds of droids and left, leaving behind a group of Geonosians to guard the area so they can reactivate the droids. Also as in the records, the Empire discovered them, and raided the place and killed every moving thing. The entire rebellion, on record, lasted 23 hours and 16 minutes.
What was not on the record was that the escaping rebels also took several more droids with them and the plans to create more. The real droid rebellion lasted 13 months and almost took over the entire galaxy. Luck was the only thing that stopped the Empire from collapsing 16 years early. This is that story.
