Love and Hatred
Authors Note: This has some pairings, but I won't spoil it! I don't know if I'm doing more than 1 chapter, though.
Lute sighed. She fingered her Elfire spell book.
So we're almost at Taizel. She thought. Good. Then we're going to Grado Fortress. That will be interesting.
Artur was behind her. He grinned and shouted "HI LUTE!"
Lute jumped. "Ah! By the Sacred Stones, have you gone mad?"
Artur's smile faded. "No. We're almost at Taizel, you know."
Lute sighed irritably. "Yes, I KNOW that."
Artur scowled. "Why are you so grumpy?"
"No reason. I'm always like this."
"No, you're not."
Lute scowled. "I know what my emotions are!" She walked away in a huff.
"Lute, wait!"
Natasha ran over to Joshua. "Joshua! Are you alright?"
Joshua looked up and smiled. "Yeah, it's just a scratch."
Natasha reached for her Mend Staff. "Wait, let me heal it."
Joshua shook his head. "You heal me every time I bleed. It's not necessary."
"Um, well…" Natasha stammered, trying to think of an excuse.
"You favor me." Joshua grinned.
"What!"
"Aha! See? You're denying it. How about we make a bet?"
"A bet? This is no time for games…"
"I'll bet you're going to fall for me."
"What! Joshua!" Natasha ran off, embarrassed.
"Wait!" Joshua called, then sighed. "I wasn't even joking."
Tana screamed. "Aaaah!"
Cormag rode up to her. "Look out!"
Her Pegasus dodged an arrow just in time. Tana stared at the now dead archer, than at Cormag.
"Uh, thank you." Tana said nervously.
She saw a shadow of a smile on Cormag's face. "Don't thank me, thank my wyvern. It saw it before I did."
Tana smiled. "Well, in that case…" She reached over and stroked it's head.
"Mm…Cormag, I have a question." Tana said.
"Yes?"
"When we get the Fili Shield, who will get it?"
"…"
"…I suppose the weakest, right?"
"It depends."
"On what?"
"One whether they need protection or not."
"Of course they'll need protection!"
Cormag sighed. "Ah, let's worry about that later."
Tana nodded. "Let's just concentrate on battle for now."
