Stupid
Ginny paused outside the door of Ron's bedroom. Harry was in there, alone. She took a deep breath and resolved to not come out until she got the desired result.
She turned the doorknob, stepped inside and closed the door quietly. Harry was sitting on his cot, staring out the window, his back facing the door. The noise of the door roused him and he turned around. "Hi Ginny." He said, his brows furrowed as though he was not quite sure why she was there.
"Hi. Er, Listen," She began nervously, "Fleur's been on my case since we got back from school about finding someone to walk me down the aisle at the wedding, so, er, I was wondering if you would do it." She very much wanted to look at the floor, but she managed to tear her eyes away and look him in the face.
His expression was one of confusion and something else she could not put her finger on. "Ginny, look," he said standing up and taking her hands in his, "I really would like to, but you know we can't do this." She sighed deeply looked away, she had expected this answer. "It's for your own good." She had anticipated this too.
She wrenched her hands away from his and hit him square in the chest out of sheer frustration. He looked a little shell-shocked; she had hit him a little harder than she had originally meant to. "Would you stop trying to be all noble!" she half shouted.
"You've somehow convinced yourself it's the right thing to do, but it's not!" she continued, "You say it's for my own good, you think you're protecting me, but the reality is I'm in just as much danger as your friend as I am as your girlfriend! Because no matter what, I'm helping you fight!"
Suddenly the same blazing look she had the night they first kissed reappeared on her face. Her voice was also more stable all of a sudden, "I'm not going to sit around or hide while others fight for me! And if you think for one second that I would do that, then I'm not the girl you fell in love with!"
"Those few months we had together were the best of my life," here her voice faltered a bit, "And when you broke it off I was heartbroken. I told myself it was all for the best, just like you did, but now I've come to my senses." Harry no longer looked shocked, now he just looked sad.
"We are all in incredible danger Harry, any one of us could die at any moment!" By now she was near tears. "And I would much rather die having had a loving boyfriend and a happy relationship, than having had been miserable and loving each other from afar."
She looked up at him with her tear stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes, "I still love you Harry and I know you love me too, so let's stop being so stupid!" And with that she closed the remaining gap between Harry and herself and pressed her lips roughly against his. The kiss was long and deep and full of pent-up desire and love.
When they finally broke apart, Ginny leaned her head on Harry's chest, and breathed deeply. Harry pulled her closer to him and hugged her tightly and gently kissed the top of her head. "You're right Gin," he whispered softly, "You're absolutely right, about everything." She looked up at him and smiled weakly.
Soon after, Ron and Hermione, who had come to investigate the source of the commotion, opened the door tentatively and stepped inside. Ron opened his mouth to ask what had happened, but before he could utter a sound Ginny turned on them and said, "And don't even get me started on how stupid you two are being!" Then she stormed out of the room exasperatedly.
Harry chuckled to himself, looked at Ron and Hermione, said, "She's right you know." Then followed his girlfriend out of the room, leaving behind a very confused Ron and Hermione.
The End.
