Little Wishes

By: Kowareta

SensuixItsuki. The only canon male/male pairing and yet so few fics. So sad.

Disclaimer: I do not own Yu Yu Hakusho.

Itsuki had grown up knowing his whole life that wishing was no damn use to anybody. Stars didn't take notice when you wished on them, dreams didn't come true just because you worked really hard, and obeying the laws of karma only mattered if you wanted a good afterlife. Having wishes, finding dreams, and believing in romance only got you a tattered heart. Wishes never did anything real.

But then Itsuki discovered Sensui. No one could meet a man like Sensui. That would imply that he was just another ordinary man--no--an ordinary being. Sensui was a being that seemed more solid, more real, and more absolute than anything else in the world.

And Sensui dreamed

A lot of demons had heard of him in demon world's clandestine shadows, but only the ones in human world had to acknowledge him. They could see the sheer power of dreams at work in Sensui's head and they were frightened of its depths. Itsuki was not. He didn't believe in dreams, yet he couldn't deny the terrible solidity of Sensui's ambitions.

His dreams were real

He was a beautiful man. Attractive. But somehow more real than any of those pale, thin, lady-like figures. Perhaps even more real than Itsuki himself. It could be possible that the reality of everyone else simply faded in the presence of this man, this being. And Itsuki, resembling one of those pale, thin, lady-like figures, could only continue to become more unreal.

But Itsuki didn't believe in dreams. Dreams were only wishes grown up. Sensui's dreams weren't dreams; they were one of several absolute realities. One night under the pale moon with a man more real than the world ensnared Itsuki's dreams, whatever little ones he had, and wound them up, twisted them until they followed Sensui's own intense reality.

It was all real

Everything about him was real. His bare touch and the way it made Ituski feel. The way you could just see into the man's dreams, see into his mind and be immersed into a reality much more real than your own. The way that his reality overwhelmed everything else you ever loved until you loved him because he was so much better than your own petty world. Because your world was so lost and pitiful and needed destroying…

And now Itsuki held a cold Sensui in his arms, sitting in the stomach of a great shadow. Judgment would not be hammered down upon a man, a being, who refused to be seen in no other reality but his own. He would forever stay with Itsuki who now wanted to dream all the little things, all the little wishes, that would bring him back.

Because sometimes Itsuki hoped to fool himself into believing one of those little wishes could become reality
