A little thing I wrote while I was thinking about what to write for my other story 'Family Ties'. Rent characters etc. Copyrighted to Jonathan Larson. This was a speed written one shot. Based on an Rent icon that I had seen at one point.

"Cheers"

Maureen's protest went great! Everything had slipped right into place, save Benny's little party crash. What did the protesters even do that broke the law anyways? Moo too loudly? Maybe it was Allison taking a break from her conquest of church domination, and moving onto the homeless.

Finally Roger had shown his affections to Mimi. Accepting her for just this once. Hopefully longer…

How long ago was it?

When Mimi and Roger had come closer then ever for the first time... When he had only pushed her away, and her only goal was to be with him. It was a cold night and at least one 'o clock in the morning. The time Mimi got her early escape from the Cat scratch Club. Collins wanted to go out for a drink, and naturally Angel followed, along with Mark. That's when they coined the term for that little group of friends. Well, it was more of a joke that the anarchist came up with.

The "Get Roger Laid Committee"

It was a good laugh, but they never expected it to actually become true. When they had taken their leave they were heading back to the loft. Mark had whipped out his camera a little ways of the way, and they all were talking. He would ask the new arrivals questions… Like he was interviewing someone. It had been a long time since he had seen them and in Angel's case, the first time. She never did know what to make of Mark and his camera. Without Mark there was no camera and without a camera there was not a Mark in sight. That was the only logic that was really applied to that.

Filming them while walking he wanted to get some good shots for his movie. He wanted them to be just as how they look without preparation. That was what real filming was about.

"Hey Angel, mind if I ask you a personal question?"

"Go ahead Markie."

"Does it ever get cold wearing those skirts? It's freezing right now."

A smile and a giggle.

"Yeah, it does. But it's worth looking cute... Now, can I ask you a personal question Hun?"

"Shoot."

"How long has it been since you've had a kiss?"

"What?"

A giggle, meaning something was on her mind.

"Uh… Last month with Maureen." No use in saying it was their 'break up and goodbye kiss'. His small voice replied not quite understanding what she was getting at.

"Well here you go." He was then surprised with a prompt kiss, surprisingly enough, right on his lips. Well, Mark couldn't understand Angel all that well either. She was so bubbly and loving. Even when it didn't seem necessary.

Collins had only managed to raise a brow at this whole thing. One moment Angel was there and the next she was off kissing the pumpkin headed albino.

That pleasant smile, and then a return to Collins' side. "Don't worry, you're not going to get gay on you Markie. But now you're going to have to start all over, and beat your record of not being kissed."

Mark couldn't help but smile like a dork and turn off his camera. They were just a corner turn away from the loft. That's when they found Mimi trying to convince Roger that there was truth and love is real.

Well, the committee did their job.
