A/N: this is my first attempt at this, so please be gentle.
Morning Madness
Hermione was late. Never in all her time at Hogwarts had she missed a class because she overslept. Well, except when she was petrified, but that didn't count.
Always late, never on time
always try my best
teachers yell; I missed the bell
always worse than the rest
showering wasn't an option, as it was she was already 20 minuets late for double potions. Snape was going to kill her. Fighting back the grogginess of not enough sleep, she got dressed faster than she thought was humanly possible.
I hit the snooze, I wake up late
always in a rush
a traffic jam, how late I am
my brain feels like it's mush
The bell for midmorning break rang throughout the castle, and the halls filled with students lucky enough to be finished with their morning classes. Sighing in frustration, Hermione danced her way through the crowd towards potions.
I hit the door, I stub my toe
I curse and scream out loud
I know Im late, the teacher can wait
I'm starting to gather a crowd
Suddenly, without warning, a door swung outward to jam itself onto Hermione's left foot, sending a shooting pain through her big toe. Screaming, she issued out a string of curses one would expect pouring from Ron's mouth, but never from her, stunning quite a few first years in the process.
I try and sneak in, the teacher can tell
I lower my head in shame
the teacher is mad, I feel so bad
but hey, at least I came
Trying to open the door as silently as possible, Hermione limped into the dungeon. Looking up from his desk, Snape sneered at her and promptly took five points from Gryffindor. Groaning, Hermione banged her head on the table in defeat, hissing curses under her breath at the world in general.
The End
