Note: "Coming Together" is being written in poetry-form; in
this case, I am writing it as a ballad, in which there are four lines
per stanza: the first and third do not rhyme, while the second and
fourth do. There is no particular "meter" for this, as there is
for cinquains and sonnets. This was written for the "fanfic100"
Livejournal community.

Together"

Long
ago, a brave warrior lived and
"Saitou Hajime" was his name.
Yet
they called him Miburô, a wolf;
And
by the sword he rose to fame.
"Behind
every great warrior,"
As it once was said,
"lies a woman"
– and a woman there lay,
Takani
Tokio, in his mother's stead:
She
was a woman of infinite grace,
And she was very loving and
kind.
For those who did not notice her beauty,
Hajime
considered to be very blind.
In
late eighteen seventy-four,
Or was it early eighteen
seventy-five?
Hajime and Tokio met, were betrothed,
And that
was when they both felt alive.
Such
as thus in our mentioned date,
A
maiden and a swordsman kissed:
It
was the beginning of their coming-together,
And
it was then that they lived, several wars amidst.
