The news spread faster than disease at Seattle Grace. Bailey had a new intern.
"Are you sure that's what she said? A new intern?" George asked as he slammed his locker shut and tied up his scrubs.
"I'm always sure." Snapped Cristina.
None of the interns could believe it. None of the interns wanted to believe it. The last thing they wanted was another intern to create more competition, frustration and undoubtedly, love triangles.
"It doesn't make any sense. Why is an intern starting in the middle of the year?" Meredith questioned.
Alex smirked. "She probably has connections. And when I say I connections I mean…"
The others stopped him before he could continue, "we know what you mean."
Rounds began at five in the morning. Bailey listened, slightly amused, as her interns struggled to stay focused on their patients. Cristina in particular.
"Dr. Bailey?" Cristina asked as Miranda filled out paper work at the hospital's front desk.
"What?"
"Um, I just want you to know that I am thrilled about the new intern."
"Really?"
"Yes. Really. And even though she some how twiddled her way into starting this program mid-year I won't hold that against her."
"Is that so?"
"Yes. I'm sure she's well qualified and will make an excellent addition here. Where did she go Harvard? Case Western?"
"Mortania High School."
"High School?"
During Cristina's attempts to pry information from her resident, a teenage girl had walked behind the desk and held out her hand to Miranda Bailey.
"Miranda?" The teen confidently assumed.
"Yes?"
"Hi," the teen shook Miranda's hand, "I'm Dana. The senior project intern."
Cristina's jaw dropped. "She gets to call you Miranda?"
