Lucky Seven.
A/N: It's based off a movie. Rent it if you want to see where inspiration came from. I liked it. Some things have been changed from HP to fit the storyline of the movie and vice versa.
Disclaimer: Don't own movie and don't own HP.
The paintbrush touches the paper. She is painting an image of a meadow with a lake and an enchanted castle. Once she is finished, she runs out to show her grandmother who is sitting out on the porch. She is apparently week and did not have a lot of time left but she has wanted to see little Hermione before she passes. Grandma looks at the picture and asks Hermione what it is supposed to be, she replies, "Heaven."
Grandma beckons Hermione to sit next to her one the bench and says, "Now I will give you some guidelines for your life. Can I use the back of this?" Hermione nods and hands her a pen. Grandma traces her hand on the left side and then proceeds to draw a line. She states, "You are currently seven."
"And a half." Chimes Hermione.
"Yes, at this point your goal is to read and play." On the line she writes 7, read, play. "At nine you have to let your parents let you stay up later." She writes 9, stay up later. "Now at 11 you'll enter a new world." 11, start in new surroundings she adds. "There you will get to the top of your class. And I think there you should meet your first boyfriend. We shall name him #1."
As she finishes writing #1, Hermione asks " Should I marry him?"
"No, no." She continues on. "You'll go to Europe and there you'll have an adventure. And Europe will bring you romance. He will be #2. Before you graduate, you will have one more guy, #3. After graduation, you should take a year off and #4 will come along. Then you'll have to decide for a career. Doctor? Dentists like you parents?"
"Blood. Yuck" She states grossed out.
"Lawyer?"
"What do they do?" Inquires a bright-eyed Hermione.
"They are argue and they get their way."
"I'll do that."
"Go to Law School, and it's perfect time to meet #5. Now he will give you a life experience." She pauses. Hermione looks at her impatiently. She writes. "#6."
"Is he the one?" Grandma shakes her head. "Then how about #7?" She nods. "What will be different about him?"
"You'll see fireworks. And you'll know."
Just then, Grandpa comes out to bring Grandma tea. Grandma takes his hand, and says to Hermione, "His hands will just fit."
Little Hermione gazes at their hands holding for a while. Then Grandma takes Hermione's smaller hands and traces them onto the right of the paper with the timeline.
