Murderer

"You broke him," Kankurou said in great anguish, holding the puppet like it was his fallen lover. "How could you just…step on him?"

"Well if you leave it in the middle of the hall somebody is viable to not notice he's there, moron." Temari glanced over him lethargically. "You can just fix it. Breathe, little brother. At least I didn't do it on purpose."

"Not it, him. Him, Temari, him! Just look at his strings! Two are broken, and now he can't move his arms. How would you feel if you couldn't move your arms?"

"If I was a puppet, I wouldn't feel anything at all." She let out a resigned sigh. "Here, let me see him. I can fix—"

"No, murderer!" Kankurou yanked Karasu out of his sisters reach. "Do you take me for stupid?"

"Yes. Otherwise you would have given it to me. 'Come on, give it here!" She swung her arm in Karasu's direction, a grumpy frown darkening her face.

"No!" Kankurou shot her a nasty grin and sidestepped her. "Gerroff!" Karasu's teeth clacked hollowly, and a claw snapped over her arm.

"Ugh, that scared me when I was like, five." She grasped the puppets leg and tugged it towards her.

Snap.

"Oh my God!" Kankurou yelped, leaping on his sister and making her tumble over onto the floor. "You're terrible!"

"Maybe—instead of—eating all the time—you could get busy fixing him—!" His sister gasped under his weight before bopping him hard on the nose.

After a brief garble of pain, Kankurou pinned the offending arms to the ground, Karasu abandoned and crumpled at his side. "God damnit!"

Breathing heavily, Temari attempted to force her arms off from the ground. "You're so stubborn!"

"What are you doing?" a bland voice murmured, sounding vaguely curious. Gaara peered over his siblings with a pout on his face. "You never let me in on anything."

"Uhh…Gaara…hey!" Kankurou tried an innocent grin and failed. "Um…sorry? We were just—fighting. She broke Kara—su."

Gaara's eyes traveled down to the broken wood underneath his foot, browless eyes furrowed. "Are you going to try to rape me too?"
