In a Class of Our Own

By Too Lazy

Summery: Elizabeth Swann is rich, beautiful, popular and bored. So Jack Sparrow takes it upon himself to change that. Only certain members of the school and parents don't approve and with good reason. Can they stay together when people and death try to tare them apart?

Very short prologue but hopefully you'll enjoy enough to review and to want the next chapter...

Prologue-Promise

Eighteen-year-old Jack Sparrow (affectionately known as Captain among his Firm and close family members) hated hospitals. He hated the unfriendly staff, he hated know-it-all doctors who were worse then the unfriendly staff; he hated the cold florescent lighting of the hallways and rooms. What he hated most of all was the antiseptic and alcohol smell overpowering the jasmine and rose scent of his girlfriend seventeen-year-old Elizabeth Swann, who because of him, was in a hospital bed unconscious and attached to a respirator.

The sound of the machine breathing for her and the beeping of the heart monitor were slowly driving him mad.

Not true mate. The cynical part of Jack's mind thought.

Jack shifted uncomfortably in the hospital chair. Another thing he hated about hospitals.

No, what was really driving Jack mad was that his girlfriend had yet to wake up.

Getting warmer mate. The cynical part of Jack's mind returned.

The love of his life might never wake up again.

Bingo mate, finally nice of you to admit she is the love of your life, but too late as the case maybe. His mind was surely trying to make him feel worse then he already did but Jack knew he deserved it.

Jack rubbed his temples tiredly. He had not left her side since he had brought her in. Not even when the police had questioned him or when her father and friends had tried to throw him out. He was never going to leave her side again.

Not ever again Jack promised himself.

He took his lover's hand in his and brought it to his lips and kissed it gently, the only response was the hiss of the respirator breathing for Elizabeth. He swallowed his nervousness down.

"Elizabeth," He exhaled the breath he had been holding in, "Lizzie, love, Wake up."

No response; and that's what is truly driving Jack Sparrow mad. The mere thought of the fiery and passionate spirit of Elizabeth being extinguished forever was just achingly horrible to comprehend.

"Lizzie, you did a bloody stupid thing, and gods and fates help you when you wake up because I'm going to kill you for being so bloody stupid." Jack says jokingly but it is not very convincing. All one could really hear was the pain and worry within the words spoken.

He places her hand on the bed his own still clasping it. "Darlin' it was such a lie when I told you I wish to have never met you," Jack paused, gathering his courage to say the words he should have said to her when she was conscious and able to hear them.

While he gathered the courage to say them, his mind drifted off to the moments they had spent together, from their first meeting to the second he brought her to the hospital.

He was reliving every good, bad, ugly and beautiful moment.
