Chapter 1 - "What Should I Do?"

Emotions. She used to be good at controlling them. She had dealt with different types of moods. Even though she was ecstatic, she would remain calm. Even though she was miserable, not a tear would be found. Perhaps except she could not deal with Anger. Somehow her temper could be uncontrolled.

But Love? That was something new.

In love. These are the words she'd snort at when she was younger.

Raven had found herself in love. Even she herself could not believe she had fallen for her leader.

She tried tackling on the subject when she was alone with Starfire. And the reply she got was: "Friend Raven, I'm so glad you're interested in love. Oh... love is wonderful, you know? Everyone in the Titans Tower love one other. Just like - just like - "

"You and Robin?" Raven interrupted.

The happy-go-lucky Tamaran princess nodded furiously. "Yes! You're right! Robin and I love each other."

Raven was speechless. Guess I have to read guidebooks discreetly, she thought.

That night, Raven couldn't sleep. She had been reading 'The Way To Get Noticed' for hours. She looked at the digital clock on her bedside table - 1:24 a.m.

She closed the book and sighed. The book hadn't been very useful to her. All there was inside were reminders and warnings to girls, telling them to wear make-up and high-heels. Why aren't there any tips or 'strategies'?, she thought with a frown. What does Robin see in Starfire?

Raven got up from her bed and put on her cloak. She decided it would be better to have a stroll outside. Making sure that no noise would be made, she opened the door and tiptoed out. She floated to the top of the Tower.

However, she froze in mid-air when she heard whisperings upstairs. She peeped up at the top of the Tower. It's them.

As Raven stared at the couple making out, she felt a stitch in her heart. Robin had his hands around Starfire's waist. She could not bear it anymore. Tears streamed out of her eyes as she hurried back into her bedroom, weeping on her bed after two minutes. I cry in the middle of the night for the same damn thing...

She fell asleep after fifteen minutes.

The next morning, Raven woke up at 5:44 a.m. It was dawn, and she came up with something. She had a big descision to make, but she didn't have time to think it over. All she knew was that she was hurt, she was upset, and felt 'beaten up'. The pain she was suffering was even bigger than being hit or kicked by any villain.

Why can't I treat it like a game? Why do I take the whole thing so seriously?

She stuffed her books and other personal belongings, as well as her leotards and cloaks, in a suitcase. In five minutes, she left the Titans Tower.

After three hours, the other Titans got up. Cyborg and Beast Boy were, again, fighting about 'tofu' and 'meat'. Starfire looked sleepy and her hair wasn't combed yet. Robin was fussing with the coffee maker. Soon he felt annoyed about Cyborg and Beast Boy's 'fight'.

"Cyborg! Beast Boy! Could you two please, please, please, shut up? The same goes every morning. Don't you get tired of quarreling over food?" Robin asked.

The two shut up reluctantly.

"And Raven, stop reading. We try to get along as a team, and we don't want you to feel left out." Robin said next.

No response. After ten seconds, Beast Boy said with a snort, "Raven's not here, dude."

Robin finally turned. "Huh?"

Ten minutes later, everyone was looking for Raven everywhere in the Tower. As minutes and seconds passed by, they were getting more and more worried. Sweat ran down their faces.

"Friend Raven disappeared!" Starfire cried.
