Paul's POV

"I confess, I messed up

Droping I'm sorry like you're still around"

"I'm so sorry, Susie. I never meant to hurt you." I looked at her, lying in our bed, crying her heart out.

"No, I'M sorry, Paul. But I just can't take it any longer." She got up, her eyes were red and she looked devastated. She went to the closet ant threw her clothes into a bag.

"No, wait!" I screamed. "Don't go, I need you here. Need you to stay with me."

"This was a mistake since the beginning." She went thru the door and I didn't ever try to stop her. What have I done?

Have I just crushed the love of my life?

I ran to our living room. Suze was still there, opening the door.

"Was she pretty, Paul?" Her eyes were full or tears and anger. "Was she worth it?"

"She wasn't, Suze. I'm so sorry. I'd do anything for you to stay."

"There isn't anything you can do anymore", she responded. "I mean, I didn't really expect ANYTHING from you anyway."

She left and I just stood there staring at the closed door. She'll be back, I thought to myself. They always are. But deep inside I knew she wouldn't. She wasn't like other women. She was the woman I loved.

"Hey kid, you'll never live this down!"

Where was she going, anyway? To Cee Cee's? No, she'd hate to be around someone confident when she was so vulnerable.

Susannah's POV

God, I'm so stupid! How could I fall into his lies, just for some hours of happiness? He was a jerke. Like, screwing his SECRETARY? It looked like a cheap soap opera. And I couldn't believe I was a part of it.

The door in front of me opened. "Can I come in?" I asked Jake. I and he got a lot closer this last year. He got married to Mariel, and she actually very cool.

He looked at me confused. "Sure, Suze. What happened?" He saw my bag.

"Can I stay the night? Paul and I broke up."

"Of course you can, sis." He got the bag from my hand.

"We have visits, but you can stay in the guest room during dinner if you want to. You're crying a lot."

"Thanks Jake, I'd like that", I said, brushing the tears away from my eyes. I followed him thru the hallway and he stopped in front of the living room, and familiar voices came to my ears.

"Let me just call Mariel." A little later he came back with her.

"Oh Suze, are you okay?" She gave me a hug.

"Thanks, Mariel. I'm fine.

"No, you're not. Wanna take a hot bath?"

"That'd be nice."

Half an hour later I was inside the bathroom putting a green sweater I had since I was sixteen and comfortable, old jeans.

To get to guest room, I'd have to go thru the dining room and see Jake and Mariel and their visits, so I tried to hide my crying signals with make-up, but I still felt like crying so I didn't go a very good job.

I walked on the hallway and stood by the entrance of the dining room, apprehensive. I got in and froze. Jake and Mariel's visitors weren't people I'd like to see. I didn't know the girl, but seeing the man I hadn't seen for years was not good. So I just pretended I didn't recognize him.

"Hello", I said, trying to look calm.

"Hello", the blonde bitch answered, looking at me.

Then the tall handsome guy turned to me and started saying "Hel…" But didn't finish. By the look in his face, I wasn't exactly who he expected to see.

"Susannah?" his voice was trembling.

"Hello Jesse."

Jesse's POV

She just looked at me like all we have had was gone. Like she didn't know me anymore. But I'm sure she did. She was the only woman I had ever opened myself to. And there we were, staring at each other without having anything to say. And it broke my heart (again). We used to don't have time enough to say everything we wanted or needed and now all I could think about to say was "hello". So that's what I said, trying to look like running into her didn't mean anything to me, even that my body was actually aching for her soft skin. My arms wanted to go around her waist so I could kiss her like it was my first kiss.

"What are you doing here?" I asked her numbly.

This is going to be a light, sweet and short fic. 5 chapters or less, I think.
