Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, duh!
Author's Note: This story has a weird setting, it was inspired by a game of Naruto Arena Tsunade did not do a good job during the invasion of Kohona from Kakuzu and Hidan, not only did both Akatsuki take the jinchuuriki but they slaughtered countless numbers of shinobi, including many of elite, such as Gai and Kakashi. There was a great up rise against the Godaime Hokage, and Danzou saw this as a time to take the Hokage title for himself. Gaining a massive following he ordered his followers to take down Tsunade in order for him to become Hokage, conveniently Tsunade called Danzou a traitor and ordered Shinobi still loyal to her to destroy Danzou and his forces. And Orochimaru did take up on Danzou's offer from Sai.
Ino-chan. Tenten-chan.
I'm sorry.
Sasuke wept over the two coffins being lowered into the ground. It was the first time he had ever lost a comrade.
Tears fell down into the earth as Sasuke's clenched fists trembled with anger.
"You killed Neji and Temari, without using your Cursed Seal, that is impressive," Orochimaru said gently, trying to comfort his soon-to-be new body.
Sasuke fell on his knees, "Their dead. Dead. Dead like my family and it's my fault again. I should've protected them, I knew they were weaker than me," he couldn't even look at their coffins anymore; he stared at the ground, ashamed.
Orochimaru's hand stroked Sasuke's back, hoping to calm him. Foolish little Sasuke, he should know that those shinobi did not matter. Plus taking Hinata, Temari, and Neji without even using the first level of the Cursed Seal could've put his precious Sharingan eyes in danger.
"O-Orochimaru-s-sama, I think we should go and train more now."
His words were weak, it was a shame to Orochimaru, and he thought he had taught Sasuke much better than this. It disgusted him that he had to act as if cared just so he would able to have the Sharingan when the time came. Of course the more powerful he had Sasuke when Orochimaru took the body would not hurt.
"Okay, Sasuke-kun, I think it will make them happy knowing that you grew stronger so your future teammates' fate won't be the same as theirs'."
