The Fate of the World
Prologue
In his attempt to exterminate all life in the universe,
the alien known as Thanos raised an army the likes of which had never been seen before.
His war with the cosmos started with the planet Earth.
Heroes and villains alike were threatened by his power.
Alliances were made and broken as some joined in his conquest
while others opposed it.
Thanos gained control of the worlds nuclear weapons.
His first attack was directed toward The Incredible Hulk.
He hasn't been seen since.
The Avengers were next.
The X-Men then fell after the death of Charles Xavier.
Magneto led the assault on Thanos, side by side with the X-Men's only surviving member, and the last of the Avenger's
Wolverine and Captain America.
Thanos's army was crushed.
In his final act, the would be world conqueror, unleashed every nuclear warhead known to man.
Magneto stopped Thanos' attempt to flee, thus Thanos fell at his own assault.
Few survived.
From his castle in Latveria, Dr. Doom watched the event play out.
After the holocaust, Thanos was trapped on a coma, his immortality the only thing that spared him.
He remains in the custody of Magneto.
Twenty years later, a battle still rages.
Doom and Magneto both struggling for power.
There is no longer a definite line between hero and villain.
Just two factions of power fighting for survival.
Having lost his Fantastic Four family in the blast, Benjamin Grimm was driven mad.
He has sided with his arch nemesis, Dr. Doom.
As did the Amazing Spider-Man.
It was with Doom's technology that Peter Parker's life was saved.
The battle for survival has raged for twenty years, and now,
Thanos is waking.
